We started offering WCM - cold, in a cup - at dinnertime at 9.5 months. My ped suggested it (up to 4 oz/day) when I told her about my pumping stress. I am really glad we did, because it got DD used to drinking WCM, cold, from a straw. It also helped us rule out any allergies/reactions before we were ready for the real switch. When we started weaning, I just started offering WCM more often (at all meals, when I got home from work, etc.). Gradually, DD started drinking more and more of it. Now, at a little past 1 year, she drinks WCM well and only gets one bottle per day (which she *insists* upon).

with DD it was 11 months - I was still pumping but my supply was tanking! I thought it was silly to move to formula for 1 month and Ped said it was fine to do CM. So she got whatever I could pump plus some CM mixed in until 12 months when I totally stopped pumping - then she got all CM
It worked fine!

We're going to this month. My BFF said she started the transition at 11 months and her mom is a child nutrition expert for the Department of SS so it seems like she's in the know about that stuff.

I introduced it at 13.5 months when a medical test prevented me from nursing for a couple of days. I did half whole milk and half breast milk in a sippy cup. She couldn't have been less interested. I've offered it somewhat regularly since, but she doesn't seem any more interested two weeks later.

We started mixing with my frozen stash of breast milk at 11months. I had no desire to pump after 1 year, and my supply was basically nothing (we stopped nursing at 9.5 months). We started 80/20 (bm/wm) and slowly increased the ratio of w/m. At one year, she is totally on whole milk and has no issues. She loves it!

We started giving it to her cold at 11 1/2 months (we were dying to get off her expensive formula) she LOVES it.

@Smurfette: we mixed the formula and decreased what he usually took by and ounce at first and then replaced that ounce with milk and just increased the milk and decreased the formula every week by an ounce. It was so nice not having to buy formula, ya know, for the three whole months before his sister was born haha

We started at 10 months ish with some old in a sippy cup with his afternoon snack. The most he has had is a couple ounces, sometimes just a sip. Our ped said he could start having a cup a day at 9 months.

We plan on having him daytime weaned by one for when he goes to daycare, just not sure how yet.
