I started freaking out and wondered the same thing. I had a c section scheduled at 39 weeks (my dr said I was not medically clear to deliver naturally because of previous surgeries).

My OB told me she had to try to stop my labor because there is a big push about babies not being full term until 39 weeks, and said she would get get in trouble if she "just did the c section now without trying to stop the labor". I dont know who she was going to "get in trouble with", I am wondering if it is a hospital reimbursment thing? I never found out, but I am curious. Maybe I will ask at my follow up apointment.
