We started yogurt at 7 mo and chicken and meatballs around 9 mo.

We are doing mixed BLW and C will probably have both in the next month or two.

@rahlyrah: She's had yogurt since about 6.5m. I tried pureed meat at 8-8.5m but she hated it. I don't blame her... it smells like cat food. I slowly introduced real meats as she got more comfortable chewing. Now at 10m she still doesn't love meat, and definitely prefers carbs, but she will eat little bits of lunch meat, ground beef, etc.

6.5 months for yogurt. I think it was 8 months before we did cut up meat. Puréed meat 6.5 months

6-7 months for yogurt...she loves greek yogurt! I started her on full chunks of meat around the same time, too.
@Greentea: I gave my daughter egg yolk from 6 months, but she's mildly allergic to the white!

@rahlyrah: Reading my mind! I bought him one of those Ella's Kitchen Blueberry Brekkie pouches, and it has yogurt in it. Was wondering when he could have it!

I did yogurt and puréed chicken (with potatoes! I almost ate it myself, it smelled so good! Of course, the babies hated it, ha) around 6.5 months...they didn't like the yogurt either but that's bc I used plain, not sweetened...

I started Greek yogurt mixed with a fruit puree around 7 months. It's his favorite food! I haven't tried meat yet but I'm hoping to start in the next week or so. (He's almost 8 months)

I think we did both around 7 months. I bought a store bought chicken/veggie puree to start. We started giving her chunks of food at 7.5 months, so now I just give her little tiny pieces of meat or ground beef/turkey.

For those who have introduced yogurt, did you do the baby kind or normal Greek?
squash / 13764 posts
@rahlyrah: we started with baby yogurt at 6 months (the plain yo baby, the flavored has a TON of sugar) and then switched to plain full fat greek shortly after, which is thicker and he likes better.
We did meat at 7 months I think?

We started both right from the start (5.5 months). We do BLW though, so no purées. At 8 mos she eats absolutely everything.
We give her plain, full-fat Greek yogurt. Sometimes we mix in fruit, sometimes we don't....she likes it both ways (but she likes everything).

6 months for yoghurt, 7.5 months for meat. I didn't bother pureeing.

I don't remember exactly but we started yogurt probably around 7 months or so? Meat not too long after. We didn't puree the meat but just tore it into small pieces.
We have been doing the baby yogurt but I think I may start buying the plain full-fat yogurt instead.

@rahlyrah: I think I started by mixing with fruit purée but now he prefers it plain!

Puréed meat at around 7.5 months and yogurt at around 9 months. We first did the yoplait baby but now he eats the regular yogurt.

@boots: thanks! Yeah Doc said separate the white. I am still scared but yolks have so much goodness...
grapefruit / 4085 posts
We do the plain yo baby or plain full fat Greek yogurt and I'll usually mix in some fruit or applesauce and cinnamon. She'll eat it plain too.

I didn't introduce yogurt till after a year because of dairy. Meats at 9 months but not pureed.

@Greentea: Isn't it the white that's the potentially allergenic part of eggs, not the yolk? I offered eggs pretty early...probably around 6.5 months. The research that's out there now says you're better off introducing potentially allergenic foods sooner rather than later.

@heartonastring: thanks! I think you are right and that helps to hear... helps me be more rational about it!

@Greentea: we started eggs at 6 months! Introduced jut the yolks and then whole eggs
