I just got out of the shower, and grabbed LO while i while still undressed. Hes only 3 months old. It got me to thinking....
when did you or do you plan to stop being naked in front of your child?

probably 5-10? haha. i'm not all that shy about nakedness in general. so whenever he starts noticing, i'll stop for his embarrassment.

I'm not really sure...but probably before he's 5! He's almost 10 months and I still bathe with him : )

I asked my husband this same question but our LO is a girl :-). We didn't come up with any answers though.

I started becoming aware of my parents' nakedness (they used to shower with us when we were really little) before I was 5!

I sad 1-2 but it might be more like 3-4... It depends!!! What a hard question.. I don't ever want him to remember his mother naked .

I never get naked in front of C and she's a girl. I vividly remember taking showers with my parents when I was 5-6 years old, Im scarred for life.

I voted 3-4. I just voted for DH in regards to our daughter. She has pointed to our "privates" (his and mine) a few times. But I dont' think until the age 3-4 they really get it. We will just say, yes Daddy is a boy so he looks different end of story. This is what my friend has done with her 3 year old in regards to seeing her baby brother.

@zippylef: haha yikes! I used to share my parents bathwater. They would bath first then me! I told SO and he got grossed out.

Seems like answers are across the board so far. I have no problem with nakedness whatsoever....I'm all for letting it all hang out and pretty comfortable with my body.
That said, like @T.H.O.U.: @Mrs. Pen: @blackbird: I guess I want to stop whenever he becomes "aware". I definitely don't want him to remember me naked!A play on the same question, is when do you stop bringing your son into the ladies bathroom with you...

@zippylef: huh. I did the same and even though I remember I do t think of it as a big deal.
@wheres_c: that one I'm more wary on because it seems all kidnapping stories are boys in men's bathrooms alone. I might fight my son tooth and nail on that one. I'm thinking 8 years old but it also may depend on where we are... The library in our small town- I would let him use the bathroom on his own at 5 yo. But the mall? Yeah right!

@Mrs. Pen: All I remember is my dad's junk and.... *shudder* It wasn't a big deal as a kid, but it weirds me out as an teen/adult.

3-4 because that seems like the age when they notice and point stuff out. I'm not concerned about him seeing that stuff at home but I would worry he'd say something while at daycare etc and it would be misconstrued.

I didn't vote because I dob't know when it will be. Whenever either DS or I feel uncomfortable we'll stop. We're pretty comfortable with nudity so I imagine it will be later rather than sooner.
Eta: DD started becoming aware and asking about body parts around 18 months. We were just very matter of fact, told the proper names for thing, and she moved on within a couple months. It wasn't a big deal for us.

I think it's tough because you THINK your kid isn't aware, because gee, they're so small and innocent and clueless. But in reality, they become much more aware before you think they do.
I think using the bathroom is totally different! When you talk about 'being naked', i think getting dressed in front of your kid or showering in front of them.

DH and I have been having this conversation lately because DD is almost 3 and is noticing the differences when she showers with daddy. I think this is helped by her having a little brother and becoming aware of what parts she has.
Since DD and DS will share a room for some time we're going to teach modesty pretty early.

@Mrs. Pen: One of my male childhood friends was inappropriately touched in the bathroom while he was using it alone.. there are some sick sick people out there.
