I started adding cumin and curry powder for flavor to my LOs food at around 7 months.
When did you start adding spices and salt to your LO's food?

I probably won't. Dh and I both like our food bland, so I barely even season my own food.

@artbee: ooh. that's really good. I like my food flavorful and I think my LO does too. Gonna try not to salt her foods for a very long time though.

i didn't use salt for a long time -- until he was 20 months?
but i used soy because charlie loves korean soups - porridge, seaweed soup, and moo (turnip) soup.
he loves strong flavors like garlic and herbs and even a little spicy. he got his palette from me!

My LO stopped liking baby food at around 10-11 months so then I just started feeding her whatever DH and I are eating so that is always seasoned. But I do not like much salt so I always use that sparingly. Oh, and I don't like spicy either but everything else I use.

DS has been a little slow to lose the to.vie thrust, so we're just starting foods other than purees at almost 9 months. Our pediatrician said to introduce foods one at a time and wait for milk, but otherwise his only rule is to not let him choke. Anything goes, including seasonings.
