Olive is going to be 5 months old next week, and I'm debating whether to start her on solids when she's 6 months or 7 months since she was born a month early. I guess she just seems like such a baby to me compared to Charlie!
When did you start solids? Do you wish you'd started sooner/later?

6 months. I'm glad we waited until then because that's when our doctor said to start, so we were in no rush.

we started close to 5 months. I really wanted to wait until 6 months but everyone saw how tired I was and kept suggesting to try some cereal, I finally gave in. (my mom gave me cereal at 2 weeks.) My dr. said I could start anytime I wanted between 4-6 months.

we started at 6 months 1 week. She hated the purees so we waited another week, then went straight to BLW, and now she LOVES it

5.5 months when our doctor said it was ok. DD was really ready for it so I think it was just the right time. I think having food in her belly put her in a much better mood, too!

We tried to introduce solids exactly on DS's 6 month birthday (only had rice 2 days)...then he proved to be allergic to rice and the whole FPIES journey began. He didn't officially start solids until he was 8.5 months old and it's been a long hard road in doing so. He's so eager and interested in the foods we eat but he either has a reaction when he eats them or isn't interested after he tastes them.

LO was born on time and we started solids when she was 5.5 months. We didn't OFFICIALLY start until the day after her 6-month appointment but for the two weeks leading up to it, I would give her a finger with smooshed banana on it, or a bit of avocado. Just a teeny bit to get her interested in food.

I think I gave her her first taste at around 4.5 months. She didn't like it so I waited a month and tried at 5.5 months. At 11 months she still doesn't LOVE solids, but I feed her 3 meals a day. I give her regular table food too! Some days she eats like a champ. Other days she pushes everything out of her mouth and wipes her tongue with her hands..

We've been feeding Madailein rice cereal since 4 months (she'll be 5 months on the 10th). Does that count as solids?
