DH and I plan on starting to TTC #2 next month and I'm just curious about anyone else's journey. Some of the other boards I've checked it seems like getting pregnant with #2 isn't as easy as I thought.

I got pregnant with LO2 in 2 cycles, it took the same amount of time as with LO1. My cycle had returned at 8 months pp and I weaned LO1 right around 12 months pp which is also when we started TTC again.

LO1 was 16.5 months old when we started, and I got pregnant with LO2 on the first try. We only decided to try again 2 weeks ago! My OBGYN was working on some natural hormone balancing stuff with me, so maybe that helped.

1st month we actively tried. I got my BFP the day after DS' 1st birthday.

Four cycles. It was the first one after I weaned DD though. I think that made a difference.

LO #1 was a year old and we shockingly got a BFP on the second try! Much faster than the first time around.

5 cycles. Three after weaning. It was longer than #1. We started when LO was 14 months.

Number 1 was first try. Number 2 we are on cycle 5 and seeking fertility treatment due to DOR. But I am turning 37 so age is a factor for me.

We started trying when my LO turned 2 and it took us 3 cycles of pretty active "trying" i.e. charting, OPKs and Conceive Plus. Whereas with our first we got pregnant on our first cycle, even though we only had sex once during the entire cycle.
ETA: I was 30 with my first, 33 with the second.

Similar to oliviabolivia I was trying for 6 cycles but weaned the 7th and that's when I got KU so I think it may be what was hindering me even though we were down to only one session of nursing per night at the end.

We just started this month DS is 8 1/2 months and I'm hoping I don't have to wean first. But time will tell. For DS it only took one cycle.

I got my period back at 3 months PP and was NTNP and was pregnant at 4 months PP -- so a month.

I got pregnant first cycle trying (LO was 15 months) but it ended in m/c. Just got pregnant first cycle after my m/c (got a pretty much a month to the day after my m/c!) and hoping for a sticky baby. We have been very lucky.

It took 6 cycles with DD1, DD2? First cycle. DD1 had just turned 1 yr.

We took the ntnp route from when lo1 was born. I got my period after I weaned at 10 months and started opks after that. I got pregnant (no clomid this time) on our 3rd cycle after that, had a cp, took a cycle off, and got pregnant again during cycle 5. It took 12 months and 3 rounds of clomid with lo 1, so for us it was definitely easier the second time.

Thank you for all of your responses! DH and I weren't trying with DS so it only took one cycle and just one time that cycle. I'm still BFing DS who's 10.5 months so I wonder if that will factor in this time around.

We started when #1 turned one and it took 9 months. My period came back 9m pp and #1 took a year to conceive.
I was still BFing when TTC.

We were going to start trying around now but we weren't very careful once in August and now I'm 14 weeks along. It was a happy surprise but definitely a shocker since we tried for 6 months with LO1. They will be 21 months apart and we were going to aim for 2-2.5 years apart.

@regberadaisy: thank you for your backstory! I hope I have that easy a time this time around
@delight: DH and I had a child free afternoon today and may have pulled the goalie early so if that magically happens for us my DS would be 19 months

We weren't trying persay but I got my period back at 6 months and was pregnant at 9. It took 10 cycles and iui last time so this was much easier than last time.

I got pregnant with my second on the first try. My first positive OPK.

We started when LO was 20-21 months and it took two months although I don't think we hit the right dates in the first month. I was shocked that it happened so easily as it took us twelve months to get our daughter and I was / am still bf'ing 3-5 times a day.

First cycle trying (DS was around 15m old). It ended in mc. Have been trying since then with no luck.

Had a CP 2nd cycle, thankfully very early. First cycle was so-so timing... we're in cycle 4 now. DS is 23 months.
ETA: DS took 3 cycles, but first two cycles were so-so timing... so it's def been harder/longer this time around.

Cycle came back at 9.5 months postpartum and we started NTNP then. Got pregnant on cycle 3, but my cycles were long and wonky and cycle 3 was the first cycle I had mostly weaned Xander. I think weaning was crucial for us.

We started TTC#2 when DS was 18 months. I'm on cycle #11 and still no luck. It took over 2 yrs for DS so I'm hoping this time is easier but it's not looking good.

I've heard so many stories about the second one taking longer, so I went into it not expecting anything to happen for a while. We were lucky though and I got pregnant the first cycle.

We got pregnant with #1 first go. Still trying for #2, we are on the 4th cycle of trying.

2 cycles off the pill - but first cycle actually trying (using OPKs), I'm currently 6 weeks pregnant.
For my DS, it took 3 cycles off the pill. So it was easier for us the second time.

Got my period back 5 months pp, started TTC at 7 months pp, had 3 CP and now conceived at 15 months pp. It took 9 cycles this time whereas we got pregnant cycle 3 with DS. But prior to that pregnancy, I'd had surgery for endometriosis and 3 months of Zoladex injections.

It took 5 cycles for both first and second pregnancies. Started trying for #2 when ds was 17 months.
The first time I was actively trying and even went to acupuncture near the end. The second time we were trying but not as anxious. I had more of an if it happens, it happens attitude so it seemed to go a lot faster the second time without help for sure!

I stopped HBC and started TTC right after my DD turned 3. Got pregnant with the 4th cycle.
