If you were pumping and breastfeeding, how old was your LO when you stopped pumping? Did you stop breastfeeding at that point, as well?

I stopped pumping when my milk supply was no longer keeping up with my son's intake no matter what I did. For me that was around 8 months. I didn't stop bfing but by about a month later my son was getting too used to the bottles being easy so he would fuss at the breast rather than try at all so we went to exclusively bottles at 9 months.

I stopped bfing around 9 months (when his teeth were grown in...ouch!) and I stopped pumping at 12 months when we switched to regular milk.

We are at 11 months and I'm slowing down my pumping sessions planning to quit at one year. I hope to keep nursing morning/nights/weekends after a year though.

@ohapostrophe: i'm planning on doing the opposite. nursing til one year, then pumping 1-2 times a day for as long as my supply continues up to 2 years i suppose...
i just want my body back and want to enjoy a glass of wine. i feel too guilty to even have one glass while nursing!

@Mrs. Bee: wow! Good for you! I am just so tired of lugging the pump around. Because of my schedule (a few long days here and there) I may still have to pump once in awhile. I really enjoy the nursing part though, especially as a way to reconnect after I've been away from my little guy all day. I'll follow his lead on weaning up to the two year mark.

I think I stopped at around 4 months. LO stopped taking a bottle, I stopped getting engorged at night.

I stopped pumping around 9 months. We stopped our one nursing session/day (LO was never into nursing) at the same time. I plan to give formula the remaining 3 months until we switch to real milk.

@ohapostrophe: well i work from home so i have the luxury. if i had to lug a pump around, i'm sure i'd quit sooner!
i do enjoy the nursing but i know of a couple toddlers that get obsessed with their mom's boobs and won't stop touching them in public and when they get older. and olive is already pretty obsessed haha.
who knows how i'll feel when the time comes though!

I'm in a similar boat as @Mrs. Bee:. I plan to nurse until 1 year and then switch to exclusively pumping for as long as my supply will keep up.
