Like the title says, when did you stop using white noise? Did your LO sleep better, worse or the same after?

Around 6 months. I forgot to turn it on once and he slept even better, so I figured it was just as easy to go without.

My 2 year old still uses it, but I'm pretty sure he doesn't need it. When he stays at my parents' I don't always bring it, and he sleeps just fine. But for some reason I can't bring myself to turn it off. But LO2 will be here soon and they will share a room, so I'll just keep him used to it for now.

@Mrs. Polish: this is what has been happening the past few days. We stopped using it and DD has been sleeping MUCH better, but she has also started walking much more over the last week, so maybe it's just a coincidence?

I don't think mine needs it to fall asleep, but he is a light sleeper and we live in an apartment in an urban setting. Plus our bedroom shares a wall with his. I think the white noise drowns out other noises that might wake him up.

Still using it at 2.5. We too live in an apartment in a big city with lots of random neighbor and neighborhood noise, plus it makes me less worrisome if we are loud watching a movie or something. But my son now requests it as we are doing nap and night routine - he is attached to it and I don't mind a bit. Plus it will help with a new crying baby soon.

I still use it at 28 months. My lo doesn't like it super quiet because random noises scare her.

Still using it at almost 2. Our floors are creaky, and DS wakes up at the slightest noise.

DD 1 is 32m and we still use it mainly to drown out baby sister. When we go visit my family we don't bring it and her sleep remains the same.

I don't think I used it for more than a month or so. I don't think it actually made a difference. We always put on music for bedtime so she falls asleep to that.

We're still using it at 2.5 years old. We live in an condo on a busy city street with loud upstairs neighbors. Sound machine is extra insurance that he'll sleep when it gets loud.

Still use it at 2.5 and we have it in our bedroom, too. I think I'm addicted.

DH and I both have to have it to sleep, so I don't think we'll feel the need to make an effort to stop LO using it at any particular time.

Like others, we live in a condo in a city, so there is too much noise from outside, and from neighbors, and even from us, to consider stopping it. Id rather she be dependant on it than be woken up every time someone goes up the stairs on the other side of her wall.
