When did you wash baby's clothes? We're 28 weeks and need to wash everything before Little Girl gets here, but I'm not sure when to do that. I haven't had my showers yet and can only assume that we'll get even more clothes then too.

I've only washed the second-hand stuff my sister got me so far. I think I will only wash a few things around 32 weeks. Things I hope to dress her in at the hospital, coming home, and first few days. I'm trying to keep tags on, and receipts for everything "just in case" it turns out to be the opposite sex or they don't fit.

@shopaholic: Pretty much everything we have so far is second hand, so it'll all need a good wash, just to be on the safe side. They are things that I'll pass on to friends when we're done with, so returning isn't an option. Thanks!

I washed them about 6 weeks before the due date but I actually ended up washing some things again about a week before LO arrived to freshen them up (he was 10 days late).
I washed far too many things though and ended up with some clothes only worn once or twice as LO grew like a weed and doubled his birth weight by 3 months. For my next baby, I'll keep the tags on more stuff and wash the essentials beforehand

I had all second-hand stuff. I started washing about a month and a half before my EDD. Even though he might not fit into them right away, I wanted to have stuff ready in case he came early.

Anytime I had a full load I would do baby's laundry. By the time LO was born, everything was washed and ready.

I washed them all in the first tri! It's because we got a lot of neutral colors (we didn't know the gender back then) from my mom when we last visited and she doesn't have hard water like we do and I wanted to keep them all fluffy! I even sorted them in zip-loc bags according to age before stuffing them in our luggage. I was a little crazy back then ;P

I washed at 36 weeks. I waited until after my shower because you'll get a ton of things that need to be washed. Also, even though you may have a lot of stuff, everything is so teeny tiny that it takes a lot to make a full load.

After my shower I washed everything that was newborn/3 months. Everything else I put away in bins unwashed, and as she grows into bigger sizes I take down the bin, pick out what I think will fit now, and take tags off and wash. But we also wash LOs laundry with ours so we don't have to factor in special loads or anything.

I was thinking about this as well because we have our shower this weekend. I am thinking that I will wash things next week as long as I have a full load. But I know I may also purchase and receive some more between now and when baby is born (I am not due until the end of December), so I will probably need to do another load later.

I just started washing 2 weeks ago. I have everything stored in ziplock bags waiting for our LO to arrive!
