Maybe 3-4 months? There was so much screaming for so long and nothing really helped. I had a 3yo who had to go to preschool etc and I just don't do well never leaving the house so I also got used to it!!

We always tried singing and talking to him but I think he just felt scared and alone since he couldn't see anyone. Actually sometimes I would hold his hand if I wasn't the driver (rare) and that would help if I could touch him. I don't think his sister could reach across from her seat or I would have had her do it too

Um, never? LO just turned two, he pretty much still hates the car. We avoid basically any drives that aren't necessary because it's not worth the stress and aggravation.

With DS it got better when we switched from the bucket seat to the convertible. Then it got bad for a while until we switched him forward facing. He gets really bad motion sickness, so I think that was a big contributor.

DD is almost 11 months, and it got better with her when she started to like a paci, and when she could put it back in.

My guy hateddddddd the car seat with the passion of 1000 fiery suns. My coworker gave me a tip that helped a ton. I would keep a bottle of gripe water and a few binkys in my cup holder and dip one into the gripe water. The taste distracted him from screaming and kept him more interested in sucking on it. Whenever he dropped it, I would just redip another one. It really really helped! We switched him to the convertible at 7 months and it was much better.

DD was fine once she learned to like a pacifier (I think around 3 or 4 months). Even better when she could put it back in her own mouth.

DS doesn't take a pacifier but he doesn't seem to mind the car these days. He likes to look at himself in the mirror or out the window. He's 7 months now, I think he's been ok for a couple months at least, so probably around 4 months was when he got better at being in the car.

It started getting easier when my daughter was 20 months old. She is now 26 months and is mostly ok, as long as it is not longer than a 20 minute trip. I hope she outgrows this at some point!

When we weaned. I didn't realize I was her pacifier until that point.

I think 4-5 months, and I think it was just repeated exposure.

Changing to a convertible seat helped DS1. DS2 didn't mind his bucket as much but generally seemed happier when we moved him to the convertible.

2 months is a bad time in general for kiddos. I might just push through for another month and see if it's still bad then. I think car seats and cars are just scary for the little guys and when they are grouchy 2 months olds it's just worse.

A long long time. 6-7 months, I think.
