LO is 13 months and just started handing me books to read to her. However, she listens for a page and then crawls away. I will still finish the book anyway though. I can't wait for her to sit with me and actually pay attention to a book. When did your LO become interested in actually listening to a book?

I think DS started to pay attention to books around 9 months since it was part of his bedtime routine. Surprisingly he has a long attention span to listen and pay attention.

It has always been a part of DS's nap and bedtime routine since he was pretty small, but I want to say he started paying better attention somewhere around the year mark? She smaller they are, the less time they pay attention but at 2 he'll happily sit for a few stories and some days would read 10 books if I let him. She'll become more interested in time I'm sure.

Probably around 12-13 months he'd sit through a whole book. Depends on his mood though, sometimes even now at 17 months he'll bring me a book then walk away before I've read a few pages.

Around 14 months she all the sudden got obsessed with books! She would go get one and back up to sit on our laps.

we read at least 2 books every night and she has loved this from when she always paid attention even when we were reading cloth books when she was an infant

9.5m? She is almost a year now and will sit through books if we read them to her all day long, she says "again" when books are done (ok, not really "again" but the best attempt at it, lol) she is a bookworm!

Still waiting at almost 11 months. He will not sit still for a book and will immediately grab it out of our hands to play with. I can't wait to have him sit on my lap so that I can read to him!

My LO loves storytime and has been demanding it since 9 or 10 months. She points at the books and gets agitated if I don't pick one up and read to her. Lately she's been more picky about WHICH book to read too.

We started reading books during our pre-nap routine at a really young age (3.5 months). We would lay down on a floor pillow and read 3-4 books. Since he couldn't move, he focused really well and was able to stay put!
During playtime at 10+ months, he was really only interested in lift-the-flap books and wouldn't really sit for a story. It wasn't until he was maybe 14+ months where he would bring us books and sit through an entire story. Now, at 19 months, he LOVES books but if he is in charge of flipping the pages we do skip a page or two (or 5!)...

I'm still waiting. He won't even get bored and wander away, he'll take the book away.

My daughter is 14 months and will sit through 1 book before she walks away. I'm not too concerned. My son wasn't all that interested in books at that age. Now at age 3, he's OBSESSED.

Really early on...probably at 6 months or so? My LO loves reading, listening to us, and turning the pages. He is particular with books, though - he'll let you know right away if it's not one he's in the mood for. We always read 3 stories before naps and bedtime and then numerous books during the day.

very early on. from 4 months on we read charlie 3-4 books before every nap.
olive on the other hand... only recently got interested at almost 2 years!

The book obsession didn't start for us until about 18 months, then he started bringing us book after book after book. Very exciting, but also kinda tiring
We are now (21 months) starting to work on longer board books (longer than the standard Boyington books)

At around 11 months LO started bringing me books and wanted me to read to her. She was happy to listen to them for a while before then though, and these days she's happy to sit there and "read" them by herself.

10-11 months for Miss A, she loves her Hairy Maclary books and will quite often bring one to me to read.

From the beginning...I think we looked at really short books beginning around 5 weeks.

Super early - we started reading every afternoon around 6 or 8 weeks and she had an amazing attention span for it. She has always been willing to listen to stories for anywhere from 45 minutes to an hour at a time. Now, at 15 months, she prefers 'reading' the books herself (she will sit there and turn each page individually, look at the pictures, and sometimes talk to herself before turning to the next page) but will sit through me reading three or four stories to her if, and only if, they are her favourite books. Anything other than a favourite and she walks away after a few pages.

7 months and she won't sit still for them.

My LO is 13 months and will sit through books mainly for the chance to turn the pages and pull down/open the flaps!
She will sit for a good while though . . . sometimes all I do is summarize the page so that she can turn it (ha!) or just talk about the items/colors etc. on the pages.ETA: Oh, but to answer the question! . . . I think around 10 months? She especially loved flap books, and when she realized that she could lift the flaps and turn the pages, she was all in! She also has a set of 12 mini Baby Einstein board books that she loves . . . they are perfect for her tiny hands.

We are at 12 months and she does the same as your LO, she gives me a book and reads 2-3 pages with me and then crawls away losing interest quickly. I always finish the book, but never force her to listen, as I know she's just a busy little bee right now!
