LO is 9 months and loves everyone still - no stranger anxiety. At our recent wellness visit, the dr said he will probably have it by 12 months. Just curious when others saw it surface or LO never had stranger anxiety.

E is 22 months and she still doesn't have it. She loves strangers and is disappointed when random people don't stop and speak to her.

My DS is almost 2.5 and never really had it. He's super social to the point where it kinda freaks me out.

I first noticed it at six months when I visited family for the first time. She was fine with them but did not want them to hold her. And if I left the room the world ended!

Both of mine had it young, around 3-4 months! We could never just let other people hold them because they would scream!

A little after a year, she began burying her head into our legs or arms when a stranger approached her. She still does it, even with family now. It takes her a bit to warm up. Then she's fine

My lo has extreme stranger anxiety even with friends and family. Will only go to my husband and Me. She's 8.5 months now and it started around 3-4 months.

My LO has never really had it---just now at 22 months, she will be a little "shy" when new people first come over, but she warms up within the first 5 minutes and she doesn't ever cry or anything, she just isn't as talkative.

My DS between about 13 and 16 months was very shy and anxious around adult strangers (never around other kids). He loves to interact with other adults now but is still very skeevy if they try to touch him - but I think that's fair enough!

Somewhere after a year, maybe 14 months. She'll want to be in my arms when new people come around but after awhile she'll warm up and be fine. She still does it now at almost 20 months.

@Cherrybee: DD is the same way! She waves and says hi to everyone we come across even if they don't see her! People really love it

I feel like my son always had it, he's very suspicious of new people. I did notice that at around 11 months though, he became extremely vocal about strangers.

Basically never. He probably could use a touch more stranger anxiety than he actually has. He'll go up and say hi to just about anyone.

She has a teeny bit at 6 months. She still lets whoever hold her and she'll look/talk to anyone, but I can see it in her eyes she's not as clueless as before where she'd just laugh with anyone haha!

Four months.
First time I saw a hint of it, she was still 3 months. I figured it was b/c we were in a crowd and she was tired. But then it was clear what we were dealing with when someone looked into her car seat and she screamed. Same with peeking into her stroller. If she has time to see someone and adjust, it's ok. But when it's abrupt and a new person is suddenly there, there are tears!

I'm still waiting. DS is 2.5 and he could use a little more caution. He'll let people he's never met pick him up (ok, they're old friends of ours so I guess he can tell we trust them). And once he was walking by himself, and some old lady took his hand and walked off with him for a laugh... I was walking behind them for two blocks, and he never even looked back. Maybe it just means I'm a crap mom and he'd just as soon live with a random old lady, but it's my responsibility to keep him safe, so he'll get a talking-to about not going off with strangers as soon as he's old enough to understand.

2.5 months. I had to be separated from her for a 2-week trip and she didn't recognize me when I came back.

DD doesn't like senior citizens or middle aged people. so ageist. from about 9 months she would hide her face behind my hands if she was in the pram, and now at 3 she hides in my legs and wraps my hands around her face. She loves talking to other kids/shop assistants, but HATES when I stop to talk to an older lady that I know (MIL's friends for instance)
