I don't exactly remember with DD, but she definitely older than 9 months; DS has been on two naps since about 4 months old.

Once he was 7 months, he was solidly on 2 naps.

I think when he was almost 7 months. I dropped to two naps b/c he seems to do okay with just having two naps a day. Otherwise, I would have kept him at 3 naps until he was ready.

Today he's had one 35 minute nap all day. For some reason he just didn't want to nap...cried through his first nap so I went to get him; and his second nap he cried for 40 minutes and fell asleep for 35 minutes. It's almost 5pm here so he'll probably go to bed a little early tonight. Today was a really off day for him. He usually takes one nap late morning for an hour or so and then another nap around 3pm for 1.5 - 2 hours.

@erwoo: Rough day for you!!

My son is 6.5 months and seems fine with a longer awake period before bed. I can usually get the 3rd nap at home because I'll let him cry whereas at daycare they do not.

She just turned 7 months and I think she's on the verge. Some days she only takes 2.

both girls at around 9-10 months. they tend to sleep (and wake up later) than most babies though, so they had their 3rd (late afternoon) catnaps for a while.
