LO's finally starting to eat some finger foods! She used to gag if her purees had little lumps in them, so I wouldn't give her anything lumpy. Today the doctor said to try finger foods again and if she gags just stop and go back to purees, but she didn't gag, yay! I'm pretty surprised because she only has two little teeth.
When did your LO start finger foods, what did they eat, and how many teeth did they have?

LO won't even touch finger foods! The closest thing are her Mum-mums. I thought about giving her pasta but kind of scared. With her bottom two teeth, she likes to chomp down and a big chunk of food breaks off and I'm worried she'll try to swallow it and choke. :S What finger foods does your LO take?

Yay! I think she was about 7 months. It was puffs and Cheerios to start. Then I gave her real food once it seemed like she was doing fine. I think she only had 2 teeth.

@Rubies: LO doesn't like mum mums. So far we've just tried cheerios, bread, and cooked carrots. The doctor made me feel a little better about it because if LO doesn't do well with it, I don't have to do it. But she said to at least try. Talk to your doctor about it and see what they say- your apt should be coming up soon, right?

I think around 8 months, it took her awhile to take to them! She is still funny about textures with veggies & fruits.

6 months- sweet potato- no teeth. We're doing baby led weaning though so LO had to learn from the get-go how to deal with finger foods.

My LO is the opposite of most... Hated purees, but loves finger foods (since 7 months) and now at 9 months, gobbles down small pieces of table food. Her teeth came in at 8 months.
Finger foods she likes are avocado, hard-boiled egg yolk, bread, chicken, beef, pasta, meatballs, Mac n cheese, and rice. It's basically baby-led weaning because she does better self-feeding these things. It's super messy, but she just hated spoons in her mouth for a while... only getting used to them now! For snacks, she does well with mum mums, yogurt melts, puffs, Cheerios (soaked in breastmilk a bit at first to make them softer), and earths best veggie snacks.

I think about 8 months. We started with toast. LO will now eat all kinds of vegetables, fruit, crackers and bread as finger food. Currently LO has 4 teeth.
