I'm 3wks pp and I thought it would have stopped by now. The bright red blood stopped after a week or so and now it's equivalent to the amount at the end of a period that keeps stopping and starting every other day. I mentioned it to my midwife before and she said this is normal and might even turn into my first period. I hope not- I thought EBF would give me months before it returned!

6 weeks until I started taking LO for walks . . . it started again so I had to wait another 2 weeks (until 8 weeks) to try activity again.

@illumina: I bleed on and off for a month or so. I never got my period back (i'm pregnant again) due to ebf. My son is 16mo, you just never know it's so different for every one

It took about 10 weeks. I thought it was never going to stop! It would stop and start frequently, too. Always faking me out!

My PP bleeding went on for 5 weeks. Although the last few weeks was mostly just spotting.

my pp bleeding tapored off at 3 weeks, then came back and stopped altogether at 5.

@Adira: Honestly I don't really have an answer. I was super shocked to discover I was pregnant. We weren't TTC, but we were really only using the pull out method, and that was still shotty lol

@MsLipGloss: see I'm worried this is happening to me! I often feel like I'm pulling a muscle or something down there if I get up off the floor awkwardly and it's starting the bleeding again

Mine didn't completely stop until 8 weeks-ish. It slowed down to occasional spotting after 6 weeks.

@Adira: 15 months or so. I'm 9 weeks and he's almost 17 months.

@illumina: It would taper off to nothing, and then I'd be lifting the carseat a bunch one day and it would start up again. Never heavy bleeding, though! I'm 15 weeks pp and haven't had any spotting for 5 weeks.

I want to say it was 4 weeks before it completely stopped. Then I had random bleeding at 7 weeks for a day. I actually thought that it was my period, but it wasn't.

About 6 weeks. God, recovery was the worst part of the whole business for me. I hated it.

With my first baby it stopped after about 1.5wks but my second took 6 wks..... kept starting on and off I thought it was so weird!! But I guess it is pretty normal. An RN friend told me that I'll see more bleeding/contractions for longer period of time with each baby... interesting. I am EBF and have not started a period since...

Mine didn't stop until ten weeks but the day before it stopped I passed a lump of what can only be described as body tissue..... So I think there was more going on there.

It stopped around 4 weeks, pp, and I got AF back at 10 weeks.

5 weeks, stopped for a week and then started up again for another week at 6 weeks, and then nothing.

Between 5 and 6 weeks for me, then spotting from 6-7 weeks.

Stopped at 6 and came back like 4 days later and stayed another week. I was sure it was my period but if it was it never returned. I am EBF and 4 mos PP.

I stopped bleeding around 2 1/2 weeks, and spotted until 4 weeks.

6 weeks..it was just stopping when I had my follow up appointment.

about 6 or 7 weeks. i was really surprised about how long it lasted!

By week 4 I was completely done.

About four weeks. I needed pads until three weeks or so then I switched to just panty liners which were enough.
