DS is almost 19 months old and still eating with his hands. We usually give him a fork. He uses it a little but gets tired of it and switches to his hands!

My son still uses his hands for some things. He'll use utensils for rice and pasta but he likes to eat fruit with his hands every single time.

DS is using a spoon at 18 months but has trouble spearing with a fork. He gets frustrated and reverts back to hands. DD used her hands for a long time but mainly liked to be spoon fed till age 3!

This makes me feel better. 20 months, I give her a fork but she doesn't always use it. And when she does I'm doing most of the work.

At a year she had a spoon down pretty good and about 16-18 months she got a fork. She doesn't use them all the time but she does prefer.
