We use swaddlers (so they have the wetness indicator) but I am not entirely sure when to change it, really. I mean, if I changed it after every pee, we would use dozens of diapers a day. When he fusses? It feels really full?

I feel it - if it's squishy, I change it. my youngest reeeeally hated being wet so I changed her more often I think, whenever she fussed about it.

I change it before or after a nap, so every 3ish hours during the day.

Kind of a combo of the previous two answers- when it feels squishy and/or around nap time. But we just switched to cloth so I'm back to not knowing really. I miss the squish!

Haha this happened too me too... with my first we changed him like every time that wetness indicator turned slightly blue.
Then after a while we figured that we can let it stay wet for a while and we figured out if it's really squishy we change it or before we go out or before a nap / bedtime.
I will say letting the wetness indicator stay blue was challenging at first... I wanted to change him but my husband said look it still pretty dry and diapers are pricy!

When it's quite squishy, before nap or getting in the car, or if LO fusses.

We change it. So, we do go through more diapers than what's probably average, but it's cheaper than copays and meds for a stubborn diaper rash since she has sensitive skin. So, we use about 10-12 diapers a day/2 cases every 3 weeks, and that's with always changing when it's blue
