i've been solo parenting my little sickie all day and going a little stir crazy. i'm pouring my first glass of wine at 6 pm PST while i cook dinner and wait for DH to get home in the next hour or so! when do you pour your first glass of wine for the day? DH is gone all day tomorrow too. thinking i'll be able to hold out til later, but we'll see! ha.

I waited until after I had nursed LO to sleep around 7, but had been anticipating it for an hour or so. (And it was a bourbon, not wine…)

Usually right after R goes to bed. Sometimes while DH is doing bathtime.

Before I was pregnant, after LO's were in bed since the evening was so busy with dinner, baths and a lengthy bedtime routine.

I usually wait until after E is down, except on really trying days, and then I might start sipping while he's eating dinner.

right after DS goes to bed. Sometimes if DH has a beer on the weekends I will have one with him during nap time. I almost had one today at nap time because I was cleaning and organizing and that always requires beer. But I opted for a Diet Coke instead

I put LO to bed after bathtime, DH pours the wine so its waiting for when I get our of the nursery.

I like having my wine in the afternoon and reading. That's usually about 3:30-4:30 when I get home from work. It usually corresponds with afternoon nap time too.

@MamaJ: I feel the same way about cleaning. I also feel if I spent a lot of the day cleaning an early glass is absolutely acceptable.

Usually right after bedtime, while I am catching up with DH and finishing dinner. I can't do it before then - not because I don't want to, but because it feels like I never have a spare second to open the bottle between getting home and getting DD to bed!

usually after LO is in bed and i have had my shower and got al my stuff ready for work the next day. So i settle in with that day's General Hospital and a glass of wine
gonna try to break that habit this week though since i am officially going on a weight loss mission,and btw, i find this thread funny since it just assumed we all need that glass of wine at the end of the day.....

I have a drink (beer or wine) when we eat dinner together at 6. Last week during an epic meltdown I started that drink at 5:30 while I was cooking....

It used to be as soon as I walked in the door at 5.30pm but these days I wait until E is in bed - so 7pm.

Depends on the day but I almost always wait until 5

After bedtime usually. I don't drink much these days, so chocolate is my wine some nights.

After DS is in bed. Very rarely do I have a drink while he is up, there is just no time.

With dinner, at the earliest on a weekday. Maybe 4:00 or so in a weekend. During the summer, I tend to do beer around lunch sometimes
