LO 1 starts on August 21st. Most of her friends in other local districts start on August 7th.

August 23. I hate that we are starting in the middle of the week this year. Registration was yesterday. We are all set.

8/21 for kinder and 9/5 for preschool. The time in between is going to feel long since it will be super hot and lo2 will miss his playmate!

August 31, two days and then a three day weekend. Seems sort of silly to me.

Schools are starting earlier and earlier around here (metro Atlanta). Some local counties are starting back this week! Some are next week. The summer is shorter, but then they get more breaks throughout the year.

Our kids here in Upstate NY go back the Wednesday after Labor day.

@kiddosc: I love it that way and how its always been done in the past - this year they are going after labor day
It gives them a few days to get the wiggles out - get their desk situated - learn about who is in their class - figure out the schedule and then the following week start fresh and ready!

@Mamaof2: Ahh, see it's the reverse here. We usually start after Labor Day. I like the opportunity to extend the holiday into a little mini Vacay/last summer hurrah and then come back to start school.
