LO 2 has been sick for the last two days but we still took LO 1 to preschool. One of her teachers thought it was strange that we didn't keep her at home with LO 2.

Um, yes! No way would I keep a healthy kid home with a sick one if I didn't have to. Not strange at all!

when LO1 is sick i keep LO2 at home. if LO2 was sick (which surprisingly hasn't happened yet at 10 months old!) i would still send LO1. I can still get work done if its just the younger one but definitely not if both are home!

@autumnlove: Why would anyone WANT to keep their well child home with their sick child? No way....if my daycare were close, I would totally drop one LO and stay home with the other.

The healthy kid ALWAYS goes to daycare! Why would I make it harder to care for the sick child by also having to care for the other one too??

I'd still send the healthy one BUT I would not bring the sick kid to drop off. I'd have DH drop the healthy one off or vice versa.
Yesterday a mom at our daycare brought her sick toddler to drop off her 3 year old, and the toddler puked all over the preschool breakfast table! No thank you!

Always! I like to keep germ exposure to a minimum for the one who isn't sick.

I will always send the healthy kid! I want the sick child to have my full attention and cuddles that I think are necessary when they don't feel good. That's harder to do when I'm needing to pay attention to the other child as well.
