I called today to check on LO 2 because she had a horrible time with drop off in her new room.
I can't remember the last time before today...maybe last year?

I've actually never called daycare to check in on her. Maybe I should call one of these days so they don't think I'm a neglectful parent!

I've never called (so far). We're moving up to a new room in 3 weeks, but we'll be on vacation the week she's supposed to move. So we're coming back to re-transition to daycare and to a new room at the same time. I might be calling that week.

I emailed the director on her first day at the new center to see how she was doing. So June 2nd.

About 6 weeks ago... she was having a hard time transitioning to the new room, so I checked up on her one time.

I never have. When we switched daycares last month I thought about calling on the first day, but then I figured they'd call me if anything was really wrong. I mean, there's nothing I can do about it if she's fussy/having a bad day anyway, so I figure there's no point in calling, finding out bad news, and stressing about it all day.

I've never done it. I was tempted on his first day but I was afraid of being that parent who calls all the time so I didn't do it. Over time, I developed a great relationship with his teachers and trust them to call me if anything is going on.

@BeachMama: exactly, that's why I don't call either, otherwise I would be a mess at work.

About a month ago? It was his first day back after the high fevers, and I just wanted to make sure he was doing alright. I know they would have called if he had spiked another fever, but I was really frazzled by the fevers and the ER visit that week, and needed some reassurance.

OMG, I call almost every day . I like to check in on him and see if he's been eating and napping. And for 2 months straight he was really sick so I always liked to check on how he was feeling.

For DD, a few weeks ago, since she had been in the ER just the previous evening. Can't remember for DS..
