At what age was your son fully potty trained (wearing regular underwear, very few or no accidents)? My son is 31 months old, and he has absolutely no interest in the potty. I want to enroll him in a week long summer camp after he turns 3 (5 months from now), and they require him to be fully potty trained. I'm worried he won't be ready by then. I'm curious to hear when other boys were potty trained.

We potty trained my son around 34 months and he was fully done in about a month (several accidents the first couple weeks though). Your goal seems feasible to me!

We had a few false starts. He was fully pee trained at 3.5. It took another 6 weeks to be poop trained.
ETA: He was also in full time daycare and they would not let him wear underwear until he was pee trained. It was frustrating and I think he would have been trained sooner if they had let him wear underwear.

29-30 months. He's 3.5 now and still wears pull ups at night though.

I say he was trained at 23 months, but with occasional accidents, and night accidents every time he is sick, and every time routine is seriously interrupted (after spending the night at grandma's).
He is 3 1/2 now, so not "fully" trained by your definition. I did not vote. But when people ask me when he was potty trained, I say 23 months. That is when he was interested, and when the majority of the actual learning occurred.
ETA: for school purposes, he was fully potty trained enough when he started preschool a few months after our training at 23 months. Kids under 5 occasionally have accidents, especially at night. I think you can reach that goal for day time and summer camp.

@pastemoo: I changed my definition to say very few or no accidents. I understand kids may have occasional accidents after potty training.

DS1 was 27 months old and fully potty trained. DS2 is currently 27 months old and no where near being potty trained. I plan on trying to potty train him this summer but not expecting great results. Each child is different and will be ready at different times.

Fully fully fully--no accidents, using the potty on his own without being prompted--was at 3y1m.
Mostly trained (i.e. he didn't have full accidents but often had a little drip because he waited too long) was at 2.5.

I voted for 36-41 as a hope. We started early at 2.5 because of school and now 6 months in we have almost zero per accidents but almost daily poop in pants. It's caused me gray hair. But I still believe we are very close.
I wait wait closer to age 3 to start. I hear about so many kids who get it and never have an accident. I wonder if that would have worked if we had waited longer.

30m for us. He initiated it and he went to the potty before bed and first thing in the morning for months before that. He was daytime and nighttime weaned at the same time.

I wish you had a bogus voting option so I could see the results. DS is currently 29 months and he really only pees on the potty just before bath time. He isn't showing much interest yet, so we aren't pushing it. I hope to start this summer, but I'll also have a newborn. I'm ambitious!!

We started at 26 months. After 3 days he was completely pee trained. it took 10 days to get comfortable pooping and going by himself.
He had random pee accidents maybe 5x within the first 3 months, but none since those 3 months after being trained. He's almost 3yr2months old now.But to answer your question .. I would say at 27 months he was good!

We waited until he was almost 3 (34 months) but he was totally ready & on board with the plan (toilet train to move up a class at school). He trained himself in about 10 days, which I attribute to HIS motivation and readiness.

37m for DS1. Not planning to try DS2 any earlier although we're regularly taking him to the potty at 29m, I have no expectations that he'll hold it in.

My son is 32.5 months and nowhere near. He's fully aware of what a potty is, and we often offer it, but he's gone in a potty only twice, ever.

He was trained at 27 months using a loose 3 day method and night trained himself a couple of months later. He's 3y3m now and all he needs us for is wiping!

34.5 months. Waited for him to be ready. There really wasn't any training. Just a day or two where I reminded him all day long. He decided he wanted underwear and we had very few accidents.
For about a year prior he was very interested and peed on the potty once a day. But I never pushed it. He has the type of personality that he needs to decide things for himself.

Fwiw my son had horrible constipation issues and wouldn't poop with a diaper one (this was occasion, starting at 8 months, but it became an every time thing), so he was pooping on the potty long before any potty training happened due to those medical issues. In that sense, it meant potty training was easier in certain ways, and way more drawn out in other ways.

We started at 34 months and he was fully trained (day and night) within a month.

We started at 18 months. He was trained by 27 months. Except for naps and night time. Naps took about 6 more months and he was night trained right after his third birthday.

We started at 2, he was day and night trained within a month. I can count on one hand how many accidents he has had, he is now 5.5. He didn't initially seem too into it, but once he started he did amazing!

He's been pee potty trained for about a year (he turns four next week). But he's not trained for number 2. He refuses to go on the toilet.

right around 33-34 months he was fully trained. i tried a couple months earlier and he just wasnt ready. it was like night and day just waiting a couple months with how differently the experience went! For ds 2 i am def waiting until he is fully ready and wont rush it!
honestly i bet your son willl be ready to be potty trained by three. i would i sign him up for camp!

29.5 months we trained and he was fully trained including nights by 30 months. He just kind of took to it but he's also incredibly stubborn and if he sets his mind to (or against) something, there is no stopping him.

i think it was exactly 2.5 years once we had settled into life with Olive. Charlie was super easy to potty train though and we could have done it way sooner. Olive is the one who was hard... she still has accidents at 4!

We missed a window at 2. 5 years old, and we waited until after an interantional trip, so just after he turned 3, we trained.

We waited until 34m to start and he was fully trained by 35m, excluding nighttime.
