I always see people suggesting photo calendars and photo books and photo frames as gifts but whoa it seems like picture overload!!! When I am a grandma I certainly hope I don't get calendars and photo books for every holiday!
Am I the only one?? lol
We give pictures out once a year (when they are taken for the bday) and for "gifts" we give things the recipient likes (gardening, music, cooking stuff, flowers, etc)

I think if my mom told me that she didn't want pictures of her grandkid as a gift, I would be sad! My parents and inlaws love pictures of their grandkids so they can "see" them all year long. I wish my sibling would send me photos of my nephew as a gift! Haha.

I'm not sure how I will feel about it when the time comes, but my DS's grandparents LOVE when they get photo gifts, or even regular old printed photos.

My parents and in laws love personalized photo gifts, like mugs and stuff. It's like giving them some bragging rights, lol.

@Mamaof2: I'm struggling with the grandma gift ideas! My parents don't display photos at home much. And my MIL is a shutterfly master, so she beats us to it usually - she already made her own scrapbook of LO's life so far, she has framed pics of him up in her home, she made me a photo montage mousepad when I went back to work and she gifted us photo coasters last year!

@Mamaof2: LOL my mom actually loves getting a photo calendar each year from my SIL. And I would usually make her a brag book plus something else.

Wow - maybe I am just not as sentimental as others - haha
For mothers day I was given 4 coasters of DD with her picture modged podged on them - I kept one and threw the rest away - I am not a big "saver" - I also throw away a TON of artwork and only keep a few special pieces.

We give the grandparents photo calendars of all of the grandkids for grandparent's day every year but other than that we don't give photo gifts. If we have photos taken or they like a particular photo we give them their print of choice just because, not for a special present. I have no idea how I'll be as a grandma but I think I'd prefer not to get only photo gifts.

My SIL makes MIL a calendar every year and she loves it. but it's a gift in addition to other things
