Not in general. If we don't like it, it goes away. If we do end up using it, we don't want to make a big deal out of it as if we like it, lol!

For handmade stuff I would. We received a ton of clothes that we're not our style for our shower and we packed them away for hand-me-downs to another family that would love them and/or for Goodwill.

If grandma (MIL) gifted the outfit we put it on her the next time we head over and then it gets donated ASAP. This happens a lot. I am not too find of her taste in baby clothes. She once got DD a shirt that had a checklist with 1. Crapped my pants 2. Sucked on some titties 3. Napped ummm. No. I get that some people think that's cute or whatever but no. Not me.

For handmade stuff I would, store bought it usually gets hung up in closet and forgotten about until the season purge.

I try and send a picture in an outfit even I don't like it.

Now the bag of hand me downs, those just go to goodwill if I don't like them.

Yeah, I try to always take it and send it. I usually either use it for play clothes when no one will really see them or just let them wear it once and then donate it.

I guess Im a jerk but I never do this. Most of the stuff she gets that I don't like comes from out of state in-laws and I just leave them in a bag to donate. I don't want to bother taking the tags off and washing them!

@lawbee11: R got like 3 outfits from my grandma as part of her bday gift. All are day care backup outfits. I don't care too much about her day care clothes since they get ruined but I have my limit.

Depends who it is from and how "special" the item is. I've returned a few outfits (especially long sleeve/heavy stuff. We live in FL. seriously.)

I feel bad because I like to take pictures and show people but sometimes I forget. I had a few friends get LO Ralph Lauren Polo striped dresses on the same day and I felt horrible I couldn't remember which was from who.

I always try to send pics in gifted outfits, regardless of whether or not I like them.

I keep all outfits that I don't like, and try to use them several times. I appreciate the thought (Except hand-me-downs, I don't feel bad neglecting those)

I usually exchange if I can for something more our style.

I try to. A couple I have yet to, and people have made comments like, "she's so tiny! It'll be forever before she can wear the dress!" So I know I should definitely take a pic.

We got so many outfits right after se was Ben that I don't remember who have is what. Oops. Amazingly there were very few things I didn't like, and those came with gift receipts so I exchanged no problem. I do try to take pics and make sure the giver sees them though.

Handmade items are special, like others said. Which reminds me C has definitely outgrown a hand knot sweater that I don't think I ever took a photo of her wearing.

I try to but I'll be darned if I remember who gave R which outfit all of the time. She does wear everything though. I don't return anything.

I haven't actually received any outfits that are really horrendous, so if it's just not my idea of the cutest outfit in the world, I use it as play clothes or the back up outfit in the diaper bag. If it's out of season, I'll return it.

My MIL though, likes to give me outfits that are waaaaaay to big, like 3T at my baby shower when LO was a month old, and then harass me every time she talks to me about when I'm going to put it on her and send a picture. ummm... 3T, so probably when shes' 3?

I usually just store them away in a donation pile. My MIL is the worst offender - most of the time I just don't like the things she picks b/c they always have sayings or characters on them. She just got M a onesie that says "Daddy's little peanut" with a picture of a peanut on it. Ugh

@hellocupcake: Classy... she couldn't have been expecting you to actually dress your child in that in public. Just like, an open up, have a giggle, put away novelty gift I hope.
