did you finish out the whole two weeks? Were you ask to just finish out the week? The day?
I've only ever given notice once and they wanted me to finish out the 2 weeks or more if I could.
Just gave notice at my current job and curious if they'll have me finish out the 2 weeks. I'm assuming yes bc they're busy.

It's been about 7 years since I've done it, but last job they had me finish out my time and through me a going away party. However, it was my college job and I had just graduated so they knew it was coming.

At my last job, they sent me home like 2 days before my 2 weeks. I already finished cross training and there wasn't much for me to do anymore. Plus my boss was SOO upset that I was leaving, and she barely even looked at me after I put in my 2 weeks.

The last time I gave a 2 week notice was 6 years ago, and they definitely had me stay. I told them what my last day would be and I worked up until that point.

I finished out my two weeks and made sure to continue doing a good job. I had a co-worker who just slacked off and played on her iPhone, and we were all glad to see her go.

It usually depends on what you are doing after you quit. Where I've worked, if you're going to a competitor, they pretty much have you leave the instant you resign. If you aren't going to a competitor, they usually want you to transition things and leave.

i've given 2 weeks at my last 2 jobs - actually the one before the last I ended up working 3 or 4 weeks until they found someone since it was so small.
(i WISH i could give my 2 weeks at my current job TODAY, ha, need to find a new gig first)

I have left a few jobs and only once did they not want me to work my last 2 weeks. I got paid out for it though.
