So I went out today for the first time with my newborn. I had my purse on my shoulder and the diaper bag in the stroller. Do you take both with you or do you place your items in the diaper bag when baby is with you and leave your purse at home?

I changed my purse into a slim bag that fits inside the diaper bag. This way if I go somewhere without the baby, I can just grab the little purse and use it. I can't juggle 2 bags without forgetting one somewhere.

I have a checkbook Wallet that goes in her diaper bag. So no purse if she goes with me.

Just the diaper bag right now, I have enough junk to carry so having two bags just felt silly

I carry a small crossbody bag with my personal stuff, so that in case my diaper bag and I get separated, I am not worrying about my phone and stuff.

Used to be just a diaper bag. But now that I have to have a remote with me at all times (it's for my migraines) I stuff a little purse in the diaper bag. Before my husband would just grab the diaper bag and go.... with my remote in it. It's something I need with me at all times and can't lose, so it's easier for him to see the purse and pull it out then just a little remote.

Long gone are the days of a pretty purse. I just shove my things into the diaper bag.

I was just throwing the essentials in the diaper bag, but recently I started using a seperate tote bag for my stuff.

My diaper bag is my purse too. I have a wristlet that acts as my wallet and I keep my key in there too. When I go out without the baby I'll just take my wristlet and sunglasses.

@chopsuey119: i do the same thing as you, so i haven't brought out a purse in a while! i'm sure i will again when DD2 is a bit older and I stop bringing around a change of clothes.

@NYCaliMama: yeah, I don't plan on carrying a purse again until my kids are all out of diapers! I'll probably just keep a bag of extra clothes in my car for emergency outfit changes

If I have the diaper bag then I don't carry a purse.

As newborn used to put essentials (wallet, cell phone, keys) in diaper bag. Now I just throw a diaper or 2 in my purse. LO just turned 2 so don't need much on short outings. Longer outings I either throw essentials in the diaper bag or carry both purse and diaper bag.
