Do you bury them or have them cremated?
We are burying our dog in our backyard and are going to get a memorial stone to put over her burial spot from a local garden shop.

@mediagirl: I'm so sorry
We will probably bury them. There's a really nice cemetery associated with the animal rescue league in our town so we'd probably choose that since we rent.

They will be cremated and we will spread their ashes in our (their!) yard.

@chopsuey119: we had to help Clover over to the other side this morning. She was really struggling and my husband decided it was time we did what was best for her. She was his heart-dog.

My heart is breaking for you today We'd cremate because we don't own a house but I think that's a very special thing to do because I know you do own. Just heartbroken for you

We buried my pug last year and are intending to get a stone soon. We'll bury all of them, I'd say.

How heartbreaking. I am so sorry for your loss. Just thinking of losing our sweet puppy makes me want to cry. It's such a shame they live such short lives.
We don't own, but hopefully our dog will live a long life and we can bury him on our own property one day.

Sorry for your loss.
I wouldn't want to bury my pet because I'd be worried about when we move :(. Because of that, I would likely choose cremation.

Oh, I am so sorry for your loss! We had to put our cat to sleep last week and it was heartbreaking. It really is devastating to lose a pet And to answer your question, we cremate.

I'm sorry for your loss.
When I was growing up we always buried in the backyard. We had to put one of my cats to sleep last year and had him cremated because we had our house on the market and didn't want to bury him and then us move.

We lost our pet recently. We initially planned to bury her at my IL's where all of the other family pets end up but I couldn't handle having to deal with the body. She was cremated and sits on our mantle in a little inconspicuous urn.

I'm so sorry! We cremate our pets, especially since all of our dogs have been big (100 lbs+) we scatter the ashes in the yard.

I'm sorry. It's been almost a year since we had to let our last girl go, and I still tear up about it on a regular basis.
I wish he had our own home where we could bury out pets, but we don't at this time. I would have left the ashes at the vet's, but my DH really wanted them.

I'm so sorry for your loss
We lost our dog in December and had him creamated because we live in an apartment. I actually didn't keep his remains. It was too sad for me. Our vet made us a clay cast of his pawprint as a keepsake, though.

So sorry for your loss.
When my childhood dog passed, my parents had him cremated and when my brother and I were both home from college we buried the ashes as a family. First time I ever saw my dad cry.

I'm so sorry.
Growing up, we always buried them in the backyard. We had one dog cremated and buried his ashes. We have a tiny backyard right now and a lab, so I don't think burying her is an option.... don't even want to think about that right now tho.

Oh goodness, im so sorry. It was the hardest thing ive ever done, saying goodbye to my dog 2 yrs ago. I hope you and hubby are ok.
I personally prefer cremation. I would hate to have to leave my dog behind if we moved after burial and id always be worried another animal might dig her up.

MY childhood dog was cremated and we took the urn to the cabin we rented every summer and spread her ashes in the lake. My DH and I had to put our 2yr old yellow lab down suddenly in Nov. We had her cremated. Her urn is up in the spare bedroom waiting for the summer. We plan to go camping and spread her ashes.
