In the hospital while laboring.
For LO2 it was only two more pushes/contractions after my water broke and she was out.

They broke it in the hospital right after my epidural. I was prob somewhere around 5-7cm. It's all a blur.

They broke mine 3 days into my induction after the Foley balloon and 2 rounds of pitocin failed to kickstart labor. Breaking my water finally did the trick!

In the hospital, the midwives had to do it because it hadn't happened on its own.

At home, when I was laying in bed, before I ever had a contraction. Labor was hard and fast starting 20 minutes later and lasting about 7 hours.

@Tidybee: woah! That's crazy it happened the same way/day both times!
They broke mine when I was at 8cm

In the hospital both times, shortly after I arrived. With my first I'd been in labor a while already and was getting settled in my delivery room with it happened with a pop. With my second I arrived almost ready to push. I think it happened on one of the first pushes and sprayed everyone at that end.

With #1 during labor at the hospital. #2 the OB broke it first thing at the hospital when I was getting induced. It *REALLY* moved things along!

I woke up in the middle of the night to pee and noticed my underwear felt a little wet. I assumed I was starting to get urinary incontinence as another lovely pregnancy symptom so I changed my underwear and crawled back into bed. As I lay in bed, I remembered a friend saying she had thought she peed since it was such a small trickle so I got back into bed. Sure enough, the water continued to slowly trickle while standing upright. I didn't take it seriously at first because I was expecting a giant gush!

DS #1: in the hospital to progress labor along
DS #2: he popped it while in labor. They were waiting for the antibiotics to effect before starting delivery. When they went to check on me, part of the bed was wet from the baby pushing his water bag during the wait.

With DD they broke it for me at the hospital since I was induced.

LO1 they broke it when I was at 10 cm. LO2 it broke in the parking garage walking into the hospital!

Both times at the hospital, right before pushing, the doctor broke it. I should have asked that it not be broken, to see if I would have one of the kiddos en caul. Oh well.

At 11:30pm in my bed as I dreamt I was peeing my pants! I had a slow leak with zero contractions, but baby was born healthy at 1pm the next day.

I woke up around 1am and felt a pop. I was sleeping on the couch. When I got up I felt a slow trickle. The big gush didn't come until I was in the hospital and getting my epidural.
We'll see what happens with this one!

I was 38 weeks, I got up to pee about 5am and when i stood a trickle ran down my leg, but no contractions. We headed to the hospital and at about 4:30pm i felt the big pop and gush. LO was born at 11:30pm

When I sat up to have my epidural placed during my induction. I remember having a contraction and just gushing everywhere. My OB tried to break my waters earlier that day but it didn't seem to work right at that point.

With DS1 it broke in bed at 1am at exactly 37 weeks.
They broke it during labor with DS2 and I went from a 5cm to 6cm immediately. He was born less than 2 hours latter.
33 weeks with DS3 so we will see soon.

Mine was broken by my midwife at the hospital. Looking back I wouldn't have allowed it, and I would have tried other labor inducing techniques instead. (Walking, squats, etc)

39+6 at about midnight right after I had gotten back in bed after using the restroom. I wasn't sure and it looked like it also included the rest of my mucus plug. Changed and got back into bed and felt a pop and another trickle. No gush. I was googling it on my phone when the contractions hit. I still hedged my bet when calling the OB after hours line and said I was fairly sure it broke. Looking back it was pretty clear (which is probably why the OB chuckled when she told me it sounded like I should to head in to the hospital).

At home both times, first time in bed in the wee hours, second time over the toilet when I went to pee before watching a movie. That was good timing!

It broke at home around 8:30 or 9 o'clock at night. I was scheduled for an induction the next morning. Contractions didn't start until about 2 hours later.

At the hospital. I had been laboring so long and then failed to progress. So they broke it in attempts to get things going (dilate more). It didn't work. After 35 hrs I only got to 5cm.

With LO1 it was broken by the midwife at the hospital.
With LO2 it broke at home in bed about 10 minutes after we got home from an appointment with the midwife who told me to just get some rest. Haha.

With LO1, my midwife broke it several hours into my induction to help progress my labor (it worked!).
With LO2 I sprung a leak that I noticed at about 4am. The whole bag broke when the nurse checked me after getting admitted to the hospital & baby came out like 10 minutes later.

I was walking the halls at the hospital while hooked up to a Pitocin drip. It was pretty early, I was only 1.5 to 2 cm at that point (I got the epi at 2 cm!) and wasn't sure that it was my water. I'd been losing my mucous plug for hours and thought it was just an extra large watery portion of that, but later found out it was my water (the dr went to break my water and said, um, I'm touching hair, your water is already broken!).

At the hospital, laboring in the Jacuzzi tub. Labor got really painful after that!

2 days post due date at 5:30am a big contraction woke me up and I felt a little trickle. Managed to get to the bathroom before I wet the bed. 24 hours later I had a baby.
Wonder what will happen with number 2!
