Currently most of LOs books are stored in her bookcase in her room. there are a few in each of her two play areas.
I've been wondering though when #2 arrives how to deal with that. Do I just take half the books from #1 and put them in #2's rooms?
I guess, really, I need to buy more books!

I would just take a few books from DD and put them in #2's room - as she/he gets older you can upgrade DD's books and give her old ones to your younger LO

we have most in the living room! she has some of the "older" books in her room, she doesn't totally understand them yet but likes to turn the pages. mainly the ones that are soft-cover children's books. almost all of the board ones are downstairs.

Same as you. Bookshelf in her room and some in her play area. I assume when we have a 2nd LO, I'll move the more babyish books she's outgrown to the younger one's room.

But LO still occasionally likes to read lift the flap books. LOL I guess I should pull them out of her room soon so hopefully she "forgets:. hehe

We have board books in her room on a shelf, and the big kid books in our room on a shelf so she doesn't destroy them. My dream is to have a bookshelf lined hallway....so all kid books can be there for them to share! Someday....

@Mamaof2: I was going to say everywhere too.
Mostly on the bottom bookshelf in the living room where we play most. She likes to take each and very one off the shelf. Lift the flap ones that she can rip I keep separately and we only read those together, the rest she can get at any time.

DS doesn't like books in his room. lol… All of our books are in the living room or basement family room. We have them in baskets or on shelves.

I have a couple of shelves that I gave books out on (IKEA spice racks). I think we will mostly put board books here when he's mobile. We have a lot of books though so a couple squares of our Expedits have books as well. When we move next year I would like to do a bigger wall of ledges for books!
I also have a basket with baby things I use throughout the day in the living room and I have a couple board books in there as well.

Bookshelf in her room. Then some in the basket in the living room, some in the playroom, kitchen, basically where ever she leaves them.

We have an entire wall in his playroom (picture ledges) that we dedicate to his books, usually the really pretty hardcover ones. Then we have a book bin under his play table and also a few in his cubbies. In our living room, his play table have 2 drawers that are filled up with books. In his room, we have 2 floating shelves with books. Can you tell we love books in our household?!
