I was just reading the other thread about what to pack in your hospital bag and I saw some mentions about taking the baby book to the hospital for footprints. How many of you did this and where did you get your baby book from?

We went to Barnes and Noble and they had a good selection. We bought one that has lots and lots of pages and details and goes all the way up to 5 years old. Big mistake! It's almost completely empty It's just way too intimidating and time-consuming to fill out an entire page (things like "what we thought the day you were born") and especially when you can't just type things in. Writing can be tough!
We're going to buy a new, simpler book and copy things into it... and cut out the footprints we took shortly after he was born (they didn't do it at the hospital, weirdly enough) and tape them into the new book.

I got my book at Babies R Us. It's very cute and girly, and like @tina: said it's full of details and pages. But I love it. I want to have all of those memories for LO so I put everything in it and get it out at least once a month to update it.

I have this one and I always give it as a gift to new mommies:

It's in a book format so you can read it to your child. It doesn't have a ton of details (definitely has enough for me) so if you're looking for a book like that, this isn't it. It's told in the first person point of view, which I love.
So something like "Daddy thought I was a boy/girl. And Mommy thought I was a boy/girl.". "Mommy liked to eat ______ when I was in her tummy." "I weighed ____ and I was _____ tall."
I like reading it to my LO because it has cute illustrations of rabbits that go with the words. There's also a place where you can put foot prints/hand prints. So we did this at the hospital.

BRUS- the Winnie the Pooh one, labor went so fast I forgot to get the book out, so we stamped his hands and feet when we got home.
