I remember there being a post probably 18 months ago about an online place to buy books relatively cheaply. But now I can't find it
So enlighten me, where do you buy your books?

We have a sizable collection already, but I still get them from Target, Amazon or Scholastic primarily.

Usually used books on Amazon. I haven't really bought many books since she was given/gifted plenty and we also borrow from library.

@psw27: I wish our daycare would do scholastic! Our elementary school does it and I love it.

@MamaG: do you have any teacher friends that do scholastic for their classrooms? As long as you have their class code for online ordering, you can order directly and it'll ship with the rest of the class order. You can order different grade level stuff and the teacher will earn points so it's a win for them too. Just a thought
We do mostly scholastic and Amazon, sometimes Costco

Barnes and nobles mainly, I love bookstores.
But I also use paperbackswap. It's basically a book exchange website. Every book you send to someone earns you a credit to request one from someone else. They are used, but I've always found them to be good quality. Although I do use it for books for me, not children books.

I buy them from Amazon and sometimes Home Goods will have children's books at a reasonable price.

I like to look at Friends of the Library sales too. Not good for recently published books but I love to browse.

Scholastic or sometimes TJ Maxx or Marshalls. I also get used books from yard or church sales, etc.

I buy most of the kids books at an amazing book fair at a local library. They have books in great condition and cheap.
Otherwise thriftbooks.com or amazon. Sometimes Walmart will have the books for much cheaper than amazon. I usually price check.

@MamaG: Better World Books online. It's free shipping and supports a great cause. They are used books, I have been super impressed with the company.

In addition to what others said I get them from Marshalls. All their books are about $3 cheaper or more than the price on the book.

I got 12 today from Goodwill. All excellent condition and a 3 or 4 of them were on my current wishlist. I get a fair amount from Goodwill, library sales, a lot of hand me downs, used from Amazon and the occasional Usborne book thrown in for good measure. I also get a lot from closeout stores - I got a bunch of hardback Margaret Wise Brown books for $2 each at a local closeout store recently.
