Our current sectional is from Jennifer Convertibles and it is falling apart after only 4 years, so avoid them!

I am more picky when it comes to upholstered furniture, especially couches, because of the springs. Our next ones will be from Thomasville.

We got our current couch at Ikea. I really love it. Our other furniture has come from thrift stores and Pottery Barn.

I'm no help, I rarely buy new furniture either! I go to antique stores that refurbish furniture.

We have two sofas. One Crate & Barrel and one Bob Williams & Mitchell Gold. They've both held up nicely. Because of my work I have access to higher end stuff at better prices. I totally recommend going to Craigslist route if you can find a sturdy sofa frame that you can reupholster in the future. If you find a manufacturer you like it can make a Craigslist search easier. Many American furniture manufacturers produce for known shops. Companies like Hickory Chair, Henredon, Drexel, and Baker will last you through your grandchildren.
In college I had an IKEA sofa that was pretty much demolished after three years and we took pretty good care of it. It was really frustrating to have to buy a new one when I was freshly out of school and totally broke.

Our current sofa is from West Elm. For just about everything else, either Overstock or IKEA.

We got a random couch made by Ashley furniture when we first moved into our house because we had to sell our sectional (which we loved!!) but the couch sucks! It's ripped and so uncomfortable.

I buy most of our furniture at Bassett when we can afford it/when they have a sale.

We buy all of our furniture from Rooms to go. They have held up really well for us. We have the reclining couch and love seat, and I LOVE them.

Sofas were a sore spot for me when we moved! We ended up working with a local store to buy Pearson sofas and Bernhardt chairs. After pricing a custom order, we ended up actually buying samples off the floor which saved a lot of money. For a sitting room that we don't use often a CB2 sectional worked fine, but I don't think it would hold up with kids or daily use. The Pearson sofas are beautiful, solid, and we would sooner reupholster than replace them when the time comes.
