Outside? In your shower?
DH washes him in our tub with a handheld showerhead. My MIL thinks this is beyond disgusting and says most people wash their pets outdoors.

Well, we live in an apartment, so we don't really have an outside option. So usually in the shower-- I prefer to do it at my parents because they have sliding doors and a handheld shower, but I've done it a couple of times in mine with a shower curtain and no handheld shower. It's harder. That or we bring him to a groomer, since he usually needs his nails clipped by then and I won't do that. It's not disgusting, it's just a lot of clean up after. I may have timed it so I did it the day before the cleaning people come-- I still clean up all the fur, but then they do a nice deep clean anyway

We wash ours in our shower/tub. My dog runs and jumps in the bathtub any time he gets remotely dirty (dog park, beach).....it was cute the first few times but now it's just annoying - lol!

Usually in the guest spare bathroom tub, right before the cleaning service comes to scrub it...Terrible I know!
The past two times DH was playing chase with him (he's a chihuahua) while I was in the bathtub and he jumped over the side of the tub and divebombed me so I would "save" him from DH, so as gross as it sounds, we took a bath together- not by my choice! But I went ahead and finished the job...

We have a shower with a glass door so we bathe him in there.

We just take a shower and have the dogs hop in with us, so I'm sure your MIL would be disgusted by us! It's just easier for us to do that, we just wash them then we take our shower afterward.

Usually in the guest bathroom tub. I live in an apartment (for another month or so) so we can't wash her outside, and even when we move into our house I know we'll wash her indoors.

we wash them in the shower/tub. we live in an apartment and washing outside isn't an option. even if it was an option i think i'd still do it in the shower/tub. you can't really control the temperature of the water in an outside hose (or maybe you can, shows you how much i know), and it would be so cold in the winter!

Nola first gets a soak at the dog pool across the street to rinse off the super gross stuff then gets a bath in our tub with a hand held showerhead. She gets really dirty about once a week and gets a bath once a week so now she is super easy to wash.

Depends on the season. If it's warm outside we wash him out there. But when it's cold I'm not going to make the poor pup get washed outside! So we do it in the guest bath tub with a handheld showerhead. We have a bulldog he weighs 55lbs but he's short and stocky so he fits in the tub no problem and doesn't make a mess. We just immediately clean the shower (also the handheld shower head and cleaning solution) as soon as we are done.

In the second bathroom! We think it's so adorable when she's still wet and without her collar... we call her "naked dog" (not like a collar makes much difference, haha)

We have a pug and bathe him in our bathtub. I wear a shirt and bathing suit bottom and sit in the tub with him to make it easier, LOL. We don't have a hose for the shower head so I fill a cup with water to rinse him.

We wash her outside if it's warm out (because she's huge and it's way easier). Otherwise, we wash her in the bathtub, which usually takes both of us.

We used to wash her in the bathtub and then clean it after, but we realized it's a lot easier in the kitchen sink. My mom does this with their 10 pound puppy as well.
Personally, I don't see anything gross about using the tub, especially if you spray it with some cleaner and wipe it down after. And it would be way too much of a hassle to try to clean her outside. I live in the northeast and the climate doesn't really lend itself to only washing dogs outside. Especially since the outside water gets turned off for a huge chunk of the year so that the pipes don't freeze.

We pop them in the kitchen sink! haha there are some perks to having little dogs. plus it's much easier for me since they are level with me while I'm washing them.

We have to take our dog to the groomer, a 130lb Newfie does not fit well in a standard bathtub nor does the drain work after she's been bathed due to all the hair washing down.
@JHoller25: my old cat used to sit on my stomach while I was taking a bath and drink the warm bath water, grossed me out but it was his way of "bonding" with me. If I moved and he got wet he'd move to the edge of the tub and just put his paws on my stomach for balance.

In the shower with us. They behave better that way.

We take ours to an inexpensive self-serve dog wash. He's a large dog who sheds a lot and it takes a very long time to clean his fur out of the bathroom if he's bathed in there (it gets on the shower curtain, floor, ceiling, toilet, various accessories kept in the room-- you name it and it gets wet fur on it when he shakes), so it's nice to let someplace else get furry. We also have an apartment, so outside isn't an option.

In our bathtub. I can only imagine the kind of debacle that would occur if we tried to bathe her outside... too many places to run to, and we would get sopping wet if we tried to restrain her.

In our tub. She'd be a crazy dog if we tried to bathe her outside! Plus, the water out of the hose is freezing.
I do wish we had a utility tub though - that's where we bathed our dog growing up.

Outside unless it's cold, and then we try to wash them in our garden tub. (They're both about 100 lbs, so it's quite a bit of work to get them in and out of a tub)

we wash our little buddy in the tub. it never occurred to me that it was gross. but, i mean, we let him lick our faces and he sleeps on my pillow, so we don't have boundaries.

If we wash them, it's in the tub, but mostly at the groomers.

In the only full bathroom we have in the house ;). With a handheld shower. It's easier on my back for me to sit outside the tub and wash them off than it is to bend over them outside (plus outside + hose = mud, which kind of defeats the purpose of giving them a bath).

Tub with the hand-held shower head too. I'd be afraid of washing him outside and having him go roll in the dirt right after!

Yep bath with handheld shower attachment. Unless its hot- then outside with the hose and that just becomes a game
