My LO loves to sleep in her swing or our bed. She'll wake up anywhere else and now that she's scooting all over the place it scares me to leave her on our bed. I guess we need to start trying her bed now.

I moved DD into her crib for nighttime sleep last night, but I still have her napping in her (unmoving) swing. I'll probably switch her naps to her crib sometime within the next month or so. She's 5 months old.

We moved A to his crib for naps about four weeks ago (three months). Before that he was in the newborn napper of his pack'n'play. I am so glad to be getting some use out of his crib now, though, and he seems to sleep just the same.

In a rock and play in her room, swaddled, with white noise. Or if that fails, in the moby while I walk the neighborhood. She is not a good napper. She's 2 months today.

@heartonastring: Yeah, I saw your post earlier & I'm thinking she needs to stop sleeping in the swing. She sleeps SO well in her own bed at night but for some reason it's not the same during the day. She'll be 5m on Friday & I think my goal for the month will be to transition her completely to her own bed.

@emg86: I've read that some babies need the swing longer for naps than for nighttime. I figure it shouldn't be too hard to switch to the crib for naps once she gets used to it for nights.
Do you have the swing turned on when she naps?
pomegranate / 3003 posts
She's ten weeks, and usually begins her naps on my chest. If she is in the wrap carrier, I will usually leave her there and get some quiet activities done. If I'm able, I transition her to the swing, on a low setting.

She usually takes at least one, sometimes two in her PNP. The other she takes in my arms or the swing. I need to work on having her take all of them in the PNP. She's 8 weeks.

LO is seven months. She does takes most of her naps in the crib, and the occasional nap in the Beco if we're out and about. She doesn't sleep great in the crib, but she's no better anywhere else so we just go with it.

My girl loooovveesss her mamaroo. I'd say 85% of her naps are in there, the other 15% in her bassinet. She's only 2 weeks old though so I suspect as she gets older her naps will be in her crib!

My son naps in multiple places, like the swing, on me, snuggled in bobby on couch, and crib. I like changing it up so he can sleep anywhere.

In his crib, only, starting around 5 months (when we nap trained). He will fall asleep in the car if we drive around his nap time, which we try to do if it's going t be a long drive. He's 11 months old.

Until he was 6 months old he napped in my arms pretty much exclusively. Since then he's napped in his crib (he's almost 14 months).

We sleeper trained when LO was 5.5 months, and started with night sleep. She did well, so we moved her from the swing to the crib for naps about a month later. It's been a life saver!

Toddler naps in her crib. The baby can sleep on any flat surface...she isn't picky.

My gals always napped in their beds. I was seriously crazy about sleep--it was my anxious 'thing'!
And I was living in Alberta, where public health was really adamant that they shouldn't sleep in swings, so if the crib failed, I would wear them and walk around and around and around...

In his swing or the RnP. If we're out, he sleeps pretty well in the car seat. Once we move (in 2 weeks) I'm going to transition him to his crib for naps. He's almost 14 weeks.
GOLD / watermelon / 14076 posts
@Pepper: Ha, yes, I should've included the car seat. If we go out and she falls asleep I just let her sleep in the car seat once we're home...I don't dare move her and wake her up!

@mrsbookworm: Same! Bad, bad habit... But it's the only way I can get him to nap longer than 40 minutes.

If we're out, she naps pretty well in her car seat /stroller, at home either on me or in the pack n play or a changing pad in the pack n play

@lawbee11: I never move C either! Only problem is, once he realizes he's not in the car he wakes up.

@grizz: I know! If I put him down, he wakes up immediately. Drives me crazy.

He naps on me. He's 6 months. He did better at sleeping on his own when he was younger.
Since we started sleep training tonight I guess I'll start nap training tomorrow. Which I keep putting off.
He'll sleep in the car seat or stroller if we are out most of the time b

Crib! When she was little though our two go-to locations were carseat and in the baby carrier while I walked around with her. She was a big fan of motion. I probably should have bought a swing, but we did without one.

Lately, mostly on our bed. I do get nervous though since she rolls, so I build a wall of pillows all around and have a monitor to see her. Also in the swing, car seat, stroller, carrier. I'm always desperate for naps, so I'll try anything. Yesterday I got her to nap in her crib for the 2nd time. LO is 6.5 months.
pomelo / 5326 posts
LO is 6 weeks and she naps all over the place. Lots of times on living room couch but other times in her crib, car seat, bassinet stroller attachment or on me. Just depends what we are doing. I wish she'd like her swing but I can't get her to enjoy either that or bouncy chair. Her longest naps are if I put her in her room with the white noise machine.
GOLD / wonderful apricot / 22646 posts
LO pretty much napped in the swing until 4 or 5 months! Then we transitiioned to PNP... at 7/8 months he started napping in his room/crib. (pnp used to be downstairs. he's just past 10 months now.

In her crib. She's 8 months. She was napping on us until day care when she started crappy crib naps there and continued napping on us on the weekend. She started napping in her crib at home around five months. So much free time!

In his rock n' play or activity mat (so on the floor on top of blankets basically) until this morning when I put him in his crib for a nap for the first time ever. He screamed for a while, but settled down and is now sleeping. He's 5 weeks old.
honeydew / 7917 posts
LO napped in the bassinet portion of his PNP until 2 weeks old, and we transitioned him into his crib. At almost 2.5 years old he no longer naps.
grapefruit / 4923 posts
LO is 8 months old and naps in his crib. sometimes he takes a catnap in a carrier or the car if we're out, but those are usually of the 30-minute sucky variety.
