I need to travel into NYC for the day and need to pump while I am there. Does anyone know of any nursing rooms in midtown or a reliable place to look up that info? Thanks!

maybe not ideal, but i've pumped in (nice) hotel lobby bathrooms, using batteries in the pump. once i used a hand pump in a bar bathroom, that was not nice.

Where in midtown will you be? There's a huge "ladies lounge" in the bathroom in Bloomingdales (I think on the 2nd floor) with lots of couches that would probably be comfortable--E 59th between Lexington and 3rd.

@lmay820 I found the app "momspumphere" super super helpful when traveling for work. you can also add sites that you find. great crowd-sourcing for pumping mamas. I was way impressed by the places I found on there! Nordstroms is always a good spot though I don't know if there is one in midtown.

Department stores are great for having a chair in the bathroom. Not always private but its just other women.
Maybe a spa bathroom?
What are your plans while you're there?

@nana87: I was going to suggest the same. I've met mom friends at bloomies specifically because they have food options and a nice ladies lounge to nurse in.

@MrsKoala: @Mrs. Pajamas: SOON!!!! I was at a Nordstrom in a Denver and told an associate that we didn't have a Nordstrom. She said they are currently building the biggest Nordstrom ever! I think I read it will be open in 2017. I am so freaking excited. And I live walking distance to Bloomies!

I've pumped in the nursing room at buy buy baby. It's nothing special bit there is a rocking chair. I've also pumped in lots of random bathrooms (hand pump or batteries). When I've worked events often someone finds me a closet, or one time I hid under a folding table with a table cloth.

i second department store bathrooms as they are the only places that can't turn you away if you aren't staying there or buying something. Hotels are tricky because they are so tiny and sometimes need a key card to access the lounge.
