With A he was home, it was about 8am so all I had to do was wake him up. Now he is on a different schedule and is gone most of the day and works an hour away, so I'm a little nervous he will be at work when I go into labor. It went so fast last time, that's what scares me!

Sleeping next to me in bed- I noticed my first contraction at 6:30 am on a Sunday.
But I did give him a scare when I called him at work while home on mat leave. He thought it was go time when he saw my number come up- nope, I just blew a fuse in the kitchen an didn't know how to fix it.

He was at home when contractions started, but they were really far apart and short so he went to work, with the promise that I'd call when they got <8 minutes. His supe sent him home early, though, because he wasn't concentrating or being productive and was pretty much just bouncing around telling his coworkers that he was about to be a dad.

My husband is a train engineer, so when he goes to work he's gone for 2.5 days. I had pre-term labor form 27 weeks on, and had been dealing with false alarms for a while. He came home the evening before and had just taken the call to go back out of town when I told him I thought this was the real thing. I'm so glad he wasn't 12 hours away!!

Golfing about an hour away ... I wasn't positive that I was in labor but I texted him and asked him to skip his post-game beer to Coe home in case!

I was working from home and my husband was at work when my water broke. This was at 3:30 and he usually gets home around 6:30. After calling my MW, who told me to stay at home and she was giving me 24 hours for my contractions to really start, I called my husband. I told him to wrap up whatever he was doing because he wouldn't be going to work the next day, but that he didn't need to hurry home. He was home within 30 minutes - he must have sped through every light!

I had been feeling like labor was imminent so he had worked from home the day before also.

I got at call from my midwife that I needed to go to the hospital to be induced! My husband was at work and he came home right away.

On his way to a softball game. When I told him my water broke he asked, "Do you need me to come home or should I still go to my game?" Umm...I'm in labor buddy. I'm going to the hospital with or without you!

He was working late at the office. I was at home getting ready for our last pre-baby date night when my water broke. I called to tell him, and it was like a movie scene - he ran out of the bank and stole someone's cab yelling, "my wife's in labor! I'm having a baby!" The guy apparently yelled good luck as he sped off.

@rahlyrah: haha that's funny! When I asked DH to get up, he got up and went to sit on the couch. I was like "umm are you going to get ready?" "Uhh yeah I guess, where are we going?" he asks haha! He must have been out of it

He was fixing the molding around the front door at 9 at night when my water broke. I yelled at him, Honey, either my water broke or I just peed a lot.

@char54: DH and I spent about an hour discussing whether he should go play golf an hour and a half away the day I went into labor. I'd had a few short bouts of contractions before so he was like, well.... what if this isn't the real thing? And doesn't it usually take a long time anyway? I was like, um, yeah, but I'd kind of rather you be here with me while I'm in labor, even if I don't have the baby until after you would have been home! I still give him crap about it.

The first time he was at work about to leave for a meeting an hour and a half away - luckily I caught him before he left (we didn't have cell phones at the time).
The second time he had just gotten home after work and we were having dinner.
The third time he was in bed, I woke him up around 6am.

When contractions really started at nine, he was on his way to work. I told him to go ahead, I'd let him know if I needed him to come home. By 11:30 I was telling him to wrap it up fairly quickly. By 12:00 I was begging him to get his ass home!

The first time, he was home with me eating dinner.
This second time, my water broke just after he left for work 45 minutes away. I was in denial and didn't want him to waste a day off if it wasn't real labour yet; by the time I decided this was real, he'd already arrived at work and had to have someone drive him the 45 minutes back. Good thing too as contractions were two min apart by the time he got home!

I was induced, but about 10 minutes after he left to go get breakfast since the nurse said it would take awhile for anything to happen I had to call him back because the baby was on the way out!

I went into labor around 1130pm but I let him sleep for a few hours until I knew for sure it was labor.

At work! He left at the normal time because I wasn't completely sure I was in labor for the first hour or so because my water was just leaking a small amount at a time.

work! I went to work that day too and came home at lunch when I was just really uncomfortable and not sure about labor. I called him when it seemed serious (contractions every 3-4 min), but he didn't exactly rush home as we knew we had some time and I was doing ok.

At the store. We were cooking dinner and I decided that I HAD to have crinkle fries. I wasn't sure it was the real thing, so Iw aligned an hour to tell him I was having contractions.

He was laying in bed next to me playing on his phone when my water broke! It was about 11 pm on a Friday night. I am so incredibly nervous about this one that he won't be here AND the weather has been terrible AND he lives 85 miles away!
I have about 4 back ups to call to come watch DS if I have to go to hospital alone!
