I want to go to Thailand for the food! And it looks gorgeous.

DH wants to go to Japan. He studied Japanese in high school and has wanted to go since. I also think he wants to go to Tokyo Disneyland.

@gracecat: I second Taiwan and Hong Kong! I wouldn't just stay in Taipei through, but go to the prettier parts of the island!

I've been to Thailand twice and it was amazing. I would highly recommend it. It is worth it to venture north up closer to the border by Burma. It is the most peaceful part of the world. I stayed at a place called the Chiang Dao Nest and it seriously was a bit of heaven - and the food was fabulous.

Thailand! I've been many times since I have family there. It's a beautiful country with friendly people. I've also been to Cambodia, just to Siem Reap to see Angkor Wat, which is phenomenal. Beijing was also very interesting, I just did it as a bus tour with family, but seeing the Great Wall of China was one of the most amazing sites I have ever seen. There is just so much to explore in Asia! My husband used to live in Malaysia and has been just about everywhere. His stories and photos make me so jealous! I think our next trip to Asia would likely be Malaysia or Indonesia.

I love Thailand! I've been twice (once to the south, once to the north) and loved it all! Hill tribe trekking in Chiang Mai (north) was a great cultural experience and so much fun. Khao Sok National Park in the south was also amazing - we stayed in tree houses, went rafting on bamboo rafts, and explored amazing caves set in the most beautiful jungle. Amazing.

I also loved China - I did a big trip there starting in Beijing in the north and making my way down to Hong Kong by the end. It was an amazing cultural experience but China is very much in your face in terms of pollution, population, and just general chaos! I loved it and want to take my LOs there, but I'll probably wait until they're more like 10-12...

I love Taiwan, China Thailand and Malaysia. If you go to Hong Kong, make sure to take the boat across to Macau too!

DH and I met living in Japan, so spent our pre-baby days exploring parts of Asia. I miss it so much!

Well I've only ever been to Japan but if definitely make multiple trips there. There is a lot to see beyond Tokyo.

We went to Vietnam for our honeymoon and we LOVED it. Great food, great people and much less expensive than going to Thailand when we priced it out.

Singapore is perfect for a weekend trip because it's so small. Food is amazing and everything is so clean and modern. Love Hong Kong - spent a semester studying abroad there and would love to live there again for a short period except the air pollution has gotten so bad in the 10 years since I lived there. In China, I would actually go to Guilin - it's a very very popular tourist destination but so pretty. You take a river cruise through the mountains that are famous there and then you can do a bike ride through the countryside. One of the most amazing experiences I had.
