We have a digital rectal thermometer. I forget the brand (it's in the baby's room and she's napping). Will link the one we have in about an hour!

I want to get a different one. We have an ear thermometer and the one you just swipe on the forehead. When I was preggo I thought I wouldn't want the rectal because I didn't think it would be fun for the baby or me. But now that she's here I realize I'd rather have something more accurate.

We bought one in Europe, I don't remember the name, that my sister-in-law was using. It uses a beam to test surface tempature. You can use it on the baby and then switch it to be able to test bath water, bottle tempature, room tempature, etc.

Yup, we use a digital rectal thermometer. According to our ped, you get the most accurate readings that way.
And, since they're so inexpensive, you can have multiple.

i got the exergen. good reviews, doctor recommended, affordable. haven't used it yet though.

we have a digital rectal thermometer (Vicks Baby Rectal,) and we also have the Exergen Temporal Artery Thermometer (that you scan across their forehead or behind their ear.) We used the rectal for the first 3-4 months, and we use the Exergen one now. If it reads high, Id double check with the rectal. We love both of them

@Mrsbells: its awesome (well as far as rectal thermometers go, lol.) we love it. No complaints at all, and it never seemed to bother Liv. And I would take 2-3 readings to be sure it was accurate (a lot of reviews of other thermometers said that they would get readings that varied by as much as 3ยบ in a single session) and Ive never had more than .1 or .2 difference. Very accurate

I have a Braun Thermoscan Ear Thermometer. I've only used it on myself and DH so far and it's really convenient and accurate.

We have the Exergen Temporal as well and I am obsessed with that thing. I scan my husband all the time!

@Artbee sorry it took me so long - the thermometer is made by Microlife and is their Non Contact Thermometer.
