For our little boy - over the crib. We'll do the one we choose in navy. I do like both of them, though ! Just need some opinions before we decide. DH and I disagree on which one would look best - so give me your input!

Does your nursery have a theme? I like them both, but the top one looks like it belongs in a sports-themed room (it looks like the letters on the back of a jersey or something like that).

@lawbee11: Our room doesn't have a theme! We are really just decorating in shades of blue. DH loves the first one - which makes sense because he is a basketball coach and loves all things sports. I don't dislike either but think the monogram is my preference - which he says is "girly".

I agree with @lawbee11: I would do the monogram unless the room is sports themed in which case the initial/name would be better.

@coacheswife123: Ha! I can totally see where the first one would appeal to a basketball coach. If it's not a sports-themed room I would go with the bottom one--I don't think it's girly at all!

@MamaMoose: I should've never sent him that sporty one for his opinion!!

I like the monogram one for my own taste, but both are nice!

@coacheswife123: yeah my hubs would be all over the sports themed one too. We are team green so we have a gender neutral nursery that is completely finished. Well the other day he told me if the baby is a boy we are hanging hubs' framed football jerseys in the nursery. Ummmmm...... NO!

Here's a question - what if I emailed the seller and asked for just the sporty letter. I don't mind the "sporty" aspect of it, I think it is actually the name running up the side that bothers me. It would still take up a considerable amount of room- the decal posted above is 30" square.

@coacheswife123: I think that would look fine! I just didn't think it would look good if the room was a nautical theme and it was going to be next to sailboats (or something similar). But if you're just doing navy accents then it'll look good!

I like the sports one better. I never really understood monograms, especially when I was little, so I guess I agree with your husband a bit and think monograms are a bit girly, I've always associated them with weddings and towels and stuff like that, stuff you get at a wedding - that or LL Bean bookbags.

I think you should so his name spelled horizontally. It will teach him to spell his name someday and sideways Won't help.

Between the two, I like the monogram better. It'll look less busy and cluttered!

I don't love monogram. What about a different sports font? Or just the initial but no name? Or monogram with the middle in the sports font
