We have one of those behind the ear thermometers, and I haven't used it much since I haven't had the need but it was being so finicky last night. I know other thermometers are more accurate but not sure which ones are best.
Which thermometer do you have?

We purchased this one from Target:

So far no complaints! And I can easily pin down LO and stick it in his ear to get his temperature.

@Tanjowen: haha pin down, that's the thing! My LO acts like I'm torturing her with the behind the ear one and it moves all over the place because she doesn't sit still!

We have a Braun in the ear. Love it and I feel like it always reads accurately!

@Bao: Hahaha, yep! My LO acts like it's the worst thing ever, but with this one if he squirms it's stuck in his ear and it doesn't matter.

An under-the armpit one that takes 8 long seconds. But LO got a doctor set and I showed her how to use the toy thermometer. We pretend to wait until it beeps and then look at it. We've been playing with the real one during diaper changes and she patiently waits for the beep now! So much easier than pinning her down!

We use the exergen forhead one. It may not be as exact as others but it does the job.
