DH started supplementing with Similac for Supplementation a few weeks after I went back to work as I'm not pumping enough for R. Last week (a week after he started) we noticed she had hives all over. We finally figured out that it was the formula so the pediatrician told us to try a soy-based formula after waiting a few days. Today was R's first day on soy formula and we already noticed a possible rash. We will have to see what happens tomorrow. Which type of formula was your LO on?

DD did not do well on a full-lactose formula (fussy around feedings, mild hives, and a red ring on her bum), so we switched to a low-lactose, sensitive formula. We used Similac Sensitive at first, but then switched to the Target equivalent. She has done wonderfully, since.

You def should try hypoallergenic if she has hives. That was LO's prime symptom of MSPI.
He was on hypoallergenic until 6m old & then we weaned him into gentle formula (specifically Gentleease by Enfamil) -
We had MSPI and used neocate prescription for our supplementing.

I chose soy, but no rash was ever present. He spit up in the hospital and his birth mom wanted him switched. I tried regular, but he didn't tolerate it as well so we went back.

M had blood in her stool on regular formula. Our pedi advised against soy because babies who are milk-protein intolerant are often also intolerant to soy. She was on Nutramigen but has now transitioned to cows milk at 12 months with no issues.
If you're pumping, are you also doing an elimination diet?

@MrsF: no, she's fine with breastfeeding and pumped milk - no hives and I drink plenty of dairy. The pediatrician told my husband that my dairy intake doesn't affect R like cow's milk formula does.

Both my kids drink/drank Nutramigen formula for MSPI

We did EArth's Best organic. Never had a single problem with it (except transitioning to cow's milk).

We used Allimentum due to extreme reflux, after trying Similac & Gerber Gentle.
