elbow macaroni. I tried pastini first, but she won't eat chunk stuff off a spoon for some reason. So recently I tried elbow noodles and first cut them in half, but then they were too small and slippery for her to really pick up. So then I let her do a whole noodle and she loved it.
Elbow macaroni with some kind of veggie sauce is her favorite food right now.

We did rotini/spiral boiled for a long time until super soft and I would cut the rotini in smaller pieces so it was just a tiny spiral...I think in halves or thirds. I would think macaroni would be a good first shape too or the small cut macaroni shape

As she got older I would boil the pasta for a long time in chicken stock (better than bouillon) and she loved that. Probably around 15 months

It was brown rice penne with olive oil. We wanted to wait a bit longer for wheat. She loved it. She likes all pasta now.

Technically a very soft Asian rice noodle. But Italian pasta it was spiral because it gets really soft.

First was chopped up spaghetti, but we quickly moved to all sorts: penne and rotini most often.

Pastina! Just because it's so small he can shovel it into his mouth without me worrying.
