Which video monitor do you use?
(Also - I know that you can't use 20% off coupons at BRU for the Motorola monitors, but can you at Buy Buy Baby?)

I'm thinking of buying a second monitor but not sure how I can sync it to the nursery unit?@sorrycharlie: I have the 1.5" Motorola.

@regberadaisy: there's a little button on the bottom of the camera. I just press it and it pairs to the monitor. Super easy

does the motorola one interfere with anyone's wifi? i've heard this might be an issue...

@Coco Bee: well one thing is that it doesn't zoom, but I kind of figured that wasn't a biggie (but the blog post said it did, so I was totally confused for awhile).
the other thing is that no matter *what* I do, I can't get audio - on my computer (a mac), I've tried with google chrome, firefox and safari. all of them say they need a plug-in..but after searching and downloading said plug-in, it still doesn't work. I did a google search for "VLC plug in" to see if the company had any support and found a support page - that actually said the guy who created the plug-ins quit..LOL..I don't know how true that is, but the support person answering the forum said that there was currently no plug-in available or something similar. I was just so frustrated by that point (also, calls to Foscam customer service went unanswered) that I just gave up

@sorrycharlie: You can get a model that is more expensive that does zoom, but the $85 one doesn't zoom.

@Coco Bee: well I ordered the one that was on the hellobee blog post, and in that post it said it zoomed..I paid $100 for it. But when I couldn't find the zoom button on screen I googled and realized it didn't. lol. damn hormones are making everything more frustrating, too! I feel like I can't figure anything out

@sorrycharlie: Oh ok... hmmm... yeah I know it can do all that, but I haven't figured out half of those features either.
Like, I know my hubby would love to see DS asleep from work, but we couldn't figure out how to do that. Have you asked the HB user that wrote the post?
Maybe when my husband gets home I can have him reply to you. He is so much better at this than me and he set it all up.

@Coco Bee: well I finally figured out how to see from my phone's browser, if your husband is interested in that! lol you know how the directions indicate to go to the website whatismyip.com ? I entered that IP into my iphone's browser, and it took me to the log in page for the camera - when I logged in, I could see! I just couldn't figure out how to move the camera around from that screen.
when I did a more extensive search on the model recommended (8910W) I am pretty sure it doesn't zoom. which kinda stinks.
I'm debating buying a sound monitor, but it would cost me an extra $70 (from what I paid for foscam) to get the smaller screen motorola, so I'm kind of weighing the options. The smaller motorola doesn't zoom or pan, though.

@sorrycharlie: Yeah, to log in on a browser you just need the IP address your PC set up for the camera. Once you're on the page, you SHOULD be able to access a menu on the left hand side that has arrows you can click to pan.
When I bought mine a few months ago there was one that zoomed. But now I'm looking at the foscam website and it doesn't appear that it's available anymore?? How bizarre...

thanks to @Coco Bee I HAVE SOUND ON MY PHONE!!!! ohhh happy day. HAHA. I downloaded the "CamViewer" app on my phone and once I verified it's working, added sound capability for 2.99 from the app store. It totally works!! I think I'll keep it now..and try to figure out the sound on the computer as we go..
but just in case, keep the video monitor recommendations coming

@sunny: If I have the monitor next to my laptop or iPhone I have noticed wifi is a lot slower. Our router is pretty far from our family room though (where I use if most of the time) so I'm not sure if it's because the signal is weakish already. I don't think it's a major issue though- I def would still buy the Motorola monitor, especially when I've heard so many bad reviews of other video monitors.
