Nadia comeneci, Mary Lou retton, Keri strugg, kristi usmaguchi, Brian boitano, the US hockey team, Eric Hayden (he was actually my attending. I've gotten to retract for him in surgery), apollo ohno, Shaun white... And you guys probably don't remember the barefoot runner Zola Budd... But that was a HUGE deal.

i thought it was so funny when the current women's gymnastics team was being interviewed, none of them watched/remembered the magnificent seven. i think some of them weren't even born! it doesn't feel like that long ago to me. i remember it so vividly.
