IL's for Thanksgiving this year. We alternate holidays since my family is all out of state. It'll be nice, but I'm looking more forward to seeing my family at Christmas.

DH's family. We decided to skip visiting them in December and do Thanksgiving instead, which we haven't done in years. The food is all wrong!
Despite what I'm about to say, I really do like his family -- I just really hate visiting at Thanksgiving and for such a long time.....
I'm already bracing myself for a week of awful. We're going for 6 nights, where we will share a room with DS in an NYC apartment and everyone will sleep horribly. Then, DS will wake up stupidly early every morning. DH will work at least 3 if not 4 days that week, so I'll be solo-parenting in a city where we have no friends or activity-memberships. My MIL will absolutely insist that we watch the Macy's parade in person, which will completely overwhelm DS and be a disaster. (She forgets that 2 year olds are not the same as 6 year olds...) And then, when we finally get back home, DH will fly out on a week-long business trip less than 48 hours later. Awesome.

We will be celebrating with my grandmother and extended family. My mom will host us and my in laws the Sunday following at her house. We actually really like it and the holidays are generally pretty awesome for us.
