Just out of curosity, who are you allowing in the delivery room with you? I'm torn on whether or not I just want DH in there, him and my mom. But then if I allow my mom, his mom wants to be there too, and I really don't know if I want that many people in there. Part of me wants it to be just us 2 (well plus medical staff obv), but part of me thinks I might need my momma. What are your feelings about it?

DH and my mom will be here at the house with me... and of course my midwife. =)
I couldn't imagine my mom not being here, she's practically my best friend.
There ain't no way MIL will be here though.... NO WAY!

I just had my hubby. We actually didn't let anybody else in until over an hour after our baby was born, so we could have family bonding time and I could do skin on skin.
I was very happy with my decision, it was such an intimate moment between us. I think someone else would have been way too distracting. Plus, the rest of the hospital visit was full of family and friends, it was nice to have our time as just a family.

I will only have DH in the room. I want it to be our experience and no one else's.

Hubs will be with me and maybe my sister.

Just my husband. My mom was a little bit hurt, but he and I both feel that if she's in the room, she'll take over and DH won't have a role in what is one of the most important days in his life.

I still have to find out what the hospital limit is. Definitely my DH and our doula, my mom, and my sister. If the limit is just two people, than only my DH and our doula. My mom is going to freak if that's the case.

We will just have me and my DH. My mom doesn't have much interest in being in the room anyways, she thinks it should be just the husband in there.

This time around, just the hubs and I and the nurse obviously. Unless the hub gets nervous and scared and wants me to call my mom again.

I'd like for the hubs & my mom to be in there-- I'm not sure if she can handle it, tho! She's always been paranoid about being me hurt (she won't even let me chop vegetables when we make dinner together), so I don't know how she would react to labor pains.

I only plan on having DH there. I'm surprised by how many people have assumed they would be in the delivery room, and were actually hurt when I told them otherwise. I have made it very clear that the delivery is about me, DH and our new baby.

DH. That's it. I might have a doula that's also my best friend, but I'm considering not using her and getting a doula I don't know. Just because I'm really private and modest and I'd prefer someone I'm never going to see again.

My husband, definitely (if he's not deployed.) My midwife. My mom and MIL will be invited. My mom because, well, she's my mom, and my MIL because she's vaginally delivered 5 babies (first was without pain meds), so she kind of knows the drill.

Hubs and my mom. NOT my MIL. I have no guilt about having a double standard between my mom and my MIL. I'm the one pushing a baby out of me so I expect everyone will respect my wishes with no issues.

Just us, and I second what Mamamoose said. If you want your mom but not your MIL, everyone just needs to deal with it. There's nothing more personal than birth and it should be your decision and yours only.

Thinking about DH (obviously!), and maybe my mom. I'm also thinking of a doula to help out too. If not, than just my DH.

Probably just DH. I'd like to have my mom there as well but she thinks it should be something between just me and DH. I may ask her still if she will be there during labor but leave during the delivery, I think it would be nice to have a backup person for DH.

i'm leaving it up to the dude. i want him to be comfortable. to me, the more the merrier, but i know being surrounded by lots of people stress him out.
