I really feel like our Christmas gifting is out of control...we buy for our household, both sets of parents, DH's grandparents, our niece and nephews, we do a Secret Santa with my siblings/siblings' SOs, and then we have several friends and their kids that we buy for. It is waaaay too much IMO, now that I'm a SAHM. I do love to buy gifts for others, but it has gotten harder our budget has gotten tighter. I would like to at least ask my friends not to exchange gifts this year but I know that some of them will buy gifts regardless.

I would love to cut back on the people we buy for. Like you I would love to simply enjoy time w family and not stress about buying gifts.

LO, stepkids, DH, parents on both sides, my sister and my nephew. Always stressful.

Our gift list is very small. We get something small--usually something like photo-related (like a mug or photobook) we get using points from Shutterfly or homemade--for our parents and our siblings (we each have one sibling). My sister & mom will be in Europe this year though so I won't give them anything til they get back. Then just for LO and husband and I get small things for each other, or just splurge on something we've been wanting for a while, shared. We don't really do formal gifts between the two of us--they're never surprises.

I buy for DH and LO of course. We all buy for my parents, and the grand kids in the family (there are four). Then us siblings (and spouses- there are 9 of us) draw names. So between DH and I we buy for two siblings.

I also buy for my closest friend.

Our household, ILs, my parents, my brother (his gf), younger cousins, and nieces/nephews

For friends we usually do group holiday dinners out

For coworkers I do a small baked goods or holiday hot choco gift bag and card

We buy for immediate family, in laws, our niece and nephew, by SIL's flavor of the week (a shirt until one sticks around longer than a few months), and some friends. There is usually a white elephant gift exchange at work too.

Too many in my opinion DH, LO, 11 nieces and nephews, our parents and step parents. Some years we do siblings and their partners, which adds on an extra 18 people. Last year we got LO to make everyone something to keep costs down as shipping all that festive goodness to the UK is $$.

DH and I exchange gifts, plus we buy for DS. On my side we buy for my parents and brother and his fiancee. On DH's side we started picking a name and buying for one person. Though everyone bought something for DS too.

Just "immediate" family: DH, LO, parents, in laws, siblings, and my niece.

Too many people!! We pretty much buy presents for everyone! For friends with kids, we just buy for their kids. Otherwise, they get a present.

My dh and I don't exchange gifts but we pick a fun experience activity and do that as a gift, frequently it's a membership to somewhere local and fun so we can use it year round.

We give gifts to our parents, his siblings, his aunts on one side, his cousins on one side and his grandmother, my side we give to my mom and do secret Santa with my siblings. I wish we could skip his aunts and cousins though but it's really important to them.

I exchange gifts with one friend and he swaps six packs of interesting beer with coworkers.

I feel like we do very little, I've cut way back....

My husband and I combine our birthday and christmas gifts to one large thing per year. We get something for our son, my brother's son, my aunt/godmother, my brother, my cousin's kids. That's pretty much it...on years when we're abroad, we participate in my husband's family's gift exchange. My husband also sends something to his godson.

I buy for my SO, LO and our respective parents. I also buy for my sister since I only have 1 and she's younger than me. My husband has 5 other siblings and 14 nieces and nephews so that's just WAY TOO MUCH. So we buy 1 gift for each household in his family's case. We stick to a theme. One year it was board games, next year was books, etc. This year since the older kids are in college, we may have to buy them something separately since they're too old for the household gift but would still feel sad if they didn't get anything. So maybe gift cards to amazon.

We do gifts for our LO and for nieces and nephews. If we see our parents over the holidays we'll get gifts for them, but we only see them every other year or so.

DH, LOs, parents, siblings, grandparents, aunts, uncles , nieces, nephews, cousins. Which is the reason why I am such a Scrooge for Christmas now and love thanksgiving. I feel like there's way too much emphasis on gifts and not about spending time together.
