Just my husband. I didn't want ANYONE at the hospital until after LO was born.

I plan on only hubs but I know if I get too scared I will want my mommy : )

I had my husband and my stepmom, who is a nurse, in the room with me during labor and delivery. DH held my hand and my stepmom held a leg!

I had a scheduled induction a week and a half past my due date, so everyone knew when I was going in. My FIL and MIL showed up (uninvited) at noon and stayed until I delivered at 6am the following morning. My SIL and BIL visited briefly while I was in labor, but went home.

MIL was miffed that she wasn't invited into the room, but we aren't close enough for me to want her in there, plus she is high strung and overbearing and I wanted calm.

Only my husband. Family is far away so it wasn't an issue, thankfully!

We're planning on just having DH and our doula in the room.

Just my husband. I had him tell the rest of the family to come the next day. I had left the option open, but in the end did not want anyone else there when labor actually hit.

I just had my husband, I didn't want anyone else distracting me.

Just DH. My parents were at the hospital but stayed in the waiting room.

Only my husband. We didn't even call anyone to let them know I was in labor so we wouldn't have people waiting.

Only my husband. And I wouldn't change a thing. Also, I did skin on skin after she was born for an hour. This way I didn't about having anyone else trying to scoop lo up, and we got to be a little family before all the chaos.

@artbee: both DH and I did a lot of skin to skin the first week as well, I actually think that's partly why he is soo good with DH.

I had my DH and mom. I couldn't have done it without either of them. I needed a hand to squeeze through every contraction, so my DH couldn't leave my side or else I freaked. My mom got me water, took pictures, talked to me, made sure they followed ny birth plan- she was kinda like my doula my mom and I are very close so it meant a lot that she was there. And I was actually there when she gave birth to my sister

I was going to have my older sister with me too (I was at her birth), but she didn't make it to the hospital in time, so she got there about half hour after I delivered.

Just Wagon Sr. This time around it'll be him and a doula.

When I get pregnant and am at that point I really want my husband, mom, and mil in the room. I don't think there will be people in the waiting room because we only have an aunt and uncle that live in the same state.

I ONLY want my husband.
If it was a long labor to relieve my husband before transition I would choose my good friend. Because I think she will be the best support person for ME.

I don't know what I will do if my mom is here already when I'm in labor. She doesn't speak English so I think it will be more stressful for me trying to explain to her what's going on.

That's what I Love about the hospital we will be delivering at. The first hour they call the Golden Hour where it's just mom, dad and baby. They encourage skin on skin contact along with breastfeeding then to create that bond. They allow no one else in. Everyone else can wait till we get to the mother baby unit.

Wow things are totally different here. Here it's just you and your DH/birth partner and medical personnel- about 9 or so - and that's it. Full stop. Nobody else in the recovery room, and certainly nobody else in the labour room. Everyone else has to wait for visiting hours like any other visit to a hospital.
Consequently we just don't have that culture of people turning up while you're giving birth, or directly after.
According to the midwife, the average list here for bodies present during labour includes midwife, obstetrician, 2 nurses, runner, paediatrician (2 of those for multiple births) anaesthetist if necessary, student midwife.

Just my DH. I also need an hour with just DH and my baby post delivery because I think it's important we have that time with her before everyone else shows up. We only plan to tell a selected few when I am in labor, so DH will tell everyone after she arrives, which will logistically give us that hour to be with her anyway. It'll also depend on what time she's born and when visiting hours are allowed.
