I started playing a little - nothing crazy. We did have some kids in our driveway yesterday, though. My husband had his eye on them but they were just hunting for a Pidgey who hangs out near our house.

I downloaded it, and was going to check it out because I thought my kid might think it was fun. But then I read about how much data they are saving from your phone and decided playing pokemon wasn't worth the privacy issues.

It's crazy! Some pizza place in NYC bought something on the app that I guess lure the Pokemons to the stores and saw a 75% increase in business lol. People are trying to get into places they shouldn't, it's just nuts!
I'll never play it b/c I don't walk anywhere!

@Truth Bombs: just if you log in through Google. If you use the other type of account, you're okay. I used a trainer club account.

One of my ILs is the First Lady at her church. She was sharing how a parishner kept changing pews because of the game. And at one point flipped the marquee sign around for extra points. She had a good sense of humor about it, but she said it was distracting.
It kind of reminds me of GeoCash.

I'm obsessed. Level 16.
I was a hardcore fan in my younger days, so the nostalgia has really taken me by storm.

I'm playing and it got my butt up to exercise (that game and also I finally got my Fitbit to work). I really needed motivation to exercise so it works.
Oh, I am using common sense. There was a Pokemon on a busy road and I didn't want to take the stroller on that road. I'm just walking around my neighborhood where I know it's safe. Also, my stroller's canopy hood holds my phone perfectly like a hands free holder so both my hands are on the stroller. I'm not using the camera feature.
I'm not obsessed (yet). Just using it while I walk the babies. For someone who doesn't usually have time or enjoy walking, it's getting me up and about.
As for privacy, I'm not worried. I don't use gmail as my primary email so they aren't seeing much.
Also, I put credit cards on my phone and use a bank app, my privacy was already signed away long ago after the all apps I've downloaded.

I downloaded it. My husband made fun of me and then downloaded it himself. I don't have time to run around looking for Pokemon, but when I go somewhere I'll open the app to see what's nearby. I'm only a level 2. I definitely won't be catching them all!

I will admit, I don't understand Pokemon (never was into the cards) and I just don't have the time, lol.

I have been playing, so has Dh. We are actually planning to meet up with some of his classmates this weekend to play some more. I am looking forward to getting out more. I love that it motivates DH to excerise.

We walked down the little downtown by our house last night after dinner and like 10 people were playing!

I'm not interested and don't have/want to make time for that lol. I actually haven't seen anyone playing it IRL.

@snowjewelz: kind of thought that is the purpose. Gotta make money. This is genius ubermodern business model and Nintendo hit upon it. Crazy!!
We have a lot of teens playing in our neighborhood. My aunty was blowing up my FB wall because she couldn't understand it beyond what she read in the news. I told her to just download it for five minutes and she will 'get' it then she can delete it. Not a gamer or a Pokemon fan but I really liked getting to know the craze firsthand. Same reason why I loaded Snapchat and Periscope and Twitter etc. when it first came out. Not a long term relationship--but I get it. My husband is not very social but he liked having something to talk about at work. His work is a poke stop so he got a bunch of balls yesterday. My daughter goes off and on with liking it. I just don't like her holding my phone because I am afraid she will break it. I am tempted to buy an indestructible case just for her sake, but then I would be spending money on the game which I don't want to do.
